Either that or working for a long time with the Martian Manhuter, someone Batman could identify was not only a shapeshifter from Mars upon their first meeting, got to know his small tells. Either that or he picked up on the fact that she had "Mars" in her name and was probably having some trouble disguising the fact that she was acting as if she didn't know Bruce Wayne already. Or knew who he was.

That all said, if I were Batman, someone who knows basically the total sum of trivia knowledge available to the human race in an effort to always stay a step ahead of whatever bizarrely themed villain he might encounter next, it's more than plausible that he's read up on every popular anime and manga under the sun.

Actually, the writer wanted to show that Batman was an intellectual by showing him able to know the meaning behind Japanese names. So, he asked one of his buddies for a Japanese name that meant poet of mars(hence why Batman knew it was Martian Manhunter as soon as he heard the name) or something like that. But instead gave the writer a name from Sailor Moon making Batman reading Sailor Moon and probably other mangas canon.
