My camera only shoots JPEG and NEF. soooo I should return it?
User avatar #48 to #44 - dickbewt (02/05/2013) [-]
What camera is it may I ask?
User avatar #49 to #48 - thegamerslife ONLINE (02/05/2013) [-]
Nikon 1
I bought it over a gopro (I am looking for slow motion for gun videos) and this camera happened to be on sale for the same price, I have 30 days till I can't return it so I thought why not. :D
User avatar #51 to #49 - dickbewt (02/05/2013) [-]
The J1 is a brilliant Camera. But only really for photography. If you're wanting one for slow-motion, I'd try a Kodak rather than a Nikon. I'm an amateur photographer, and Nikon's have always done me well for photographs, but never for video's. If it's not too much hastle, I'd return it man :P

Problem is my budget of $400...this is the best I think I can do for this price. Like 670 x 270(something like that weird ratio of 8:3) @ 400FPS.
User avatar #55 to #52 - dickbewt (02/05/2013) [-]
Well, I'd just get an average video camera (Around 100-200), and then manually slow the shots down. I think that's the best way! Hope I can be of some help :P

Well I already have a Sony w350 from last year which is 720P at 30FPS but slowed it's not to great. Like I said I will try it, I do have a 30 day period till I can't take it back(so like 25 days left) maybe get some good footage, throw it up on youtube and see how people like it. I really want to shoot a cup of pudding in slow motion for some reason lmao

I always thought .TIF files had the highest quality :(
#43 to #41 - hylebus (02/05/2013) [-]
Both can hold lossless images, so they're almost equal. TIFF is usually used for storing pictures, as it supports EXIF metadatas, as opposed to PNG, which is used for icons etc. (most icons in Windows are scaled png). Also PNG has better compression rate for not too complex images, like aforementioned icons.

Too bad this image was a JPG at one point in time. Notice the artifacts. Polishing a turd.

JPG has it's uses. Images like this is not one of them. But most 9gagimfunnyjunk websites resize images, add their watermarks/bars, and recompress all uploads as JPGs.

I'm very glad FunnyJunk doesn't do that. <3

So phanact, may I "borrow" your weed? I need it for something really important or else something bad may happen again.

This isn't a standard jpeg though.
It's a magical moving jpeg.
Far superior to the inferior static image lower races.
