I think he was referring to the fact that he did not know of The Colbert Report, not Whose Line. He was just too vague.

Okay, i know this has been said before in these comments but i'm putting my opinion in.

I know all you "420 blaze it faggot xDxDxD" queers are going to thumb me down for insulting your precious cool guy drug, but i don't really care.

It is a gateway drug. This doesn't mean that by doing weed you'll get addicted to heroin, but it definitely makes the other drugs more realistic to take.

I know this because i've smoked weed, like most people, and since smoking weed i've taken molly and am more than willing to take ecstasy, and i wouldn't mind trying cocaine either.
I wouldn't have considered any of that before i smoked weed, so it's because of this that weed is a gateway drug.

Pic related, it's what all you kids look like when you try to make weed out to be 100% harmless.
User avatar #63 to #62 - TheHutchie (04/20/2013) [-]
That applies to you personally. You can't proclaim it's a gateway drug based on your personal experience, that'd be like me saying that everyone called Josh is a total and complete dickhead because the one guy I ever knew called Josh happened to be a total and complete dickhead. I'm not taking a stance on weed one way or the other, only saying that your argument applies to 1/7,000,000,000 of the world's population.

TL;DR Not everyone is going to experience everything the same way you do.
User avatar #64 to #63 - JipJop (04/20/2013) [-]
but it's not like that at all. I'm not the only one that's experienced it that way, most people i know have, as well as most people elsewhere.

Realistically how many people do you think would decide 'i'm gonna do cocaine' with ever having being high before.

Weed is a moderately 'safe' drug which allows people to get experience in being high so they wouldn't then be afraid of what other drugs offer.
User avatar #65 to #64 - TheHutchie (04/20/2013) [-]
Well based on all the people you know who have taken weed and share this opinion, we can probably stretch to maybe 20 in seven billion people. Probably less.

Regardless, common sense still says that this is something that will differ from person to person.
User avatar #66 to #65 - JipJop (04/20/2013) [-]
are you seriously implying that only me and my friends have used weed and then been willing to use other drugs, and no one else in the world has?

Are you that dense?
The reason the media talks about this so much is because it's one of the few things the media is actually right on. They don't base all of these stories off of me personally you know
User avatar #67 to #66 - TheHutchie (04/20/2013) [-]
No sir, that is not at all what I'm implying. I'm not actually implying anything at all.

I'm straight-up making a point, which requires little-to-no implication whatsoever. That point is that your argument for why cannabis is a "gateway drug" is flawed, because you have provided no evidence or opinions beyond your own immediate life.

The media has been null and void up until that last comment, and that's the best point you've made. Shame it came two comments too late. You'll also have to excuse my natural assumption that common sense takes precedence over what the news tells me.

As I've said though, I take no stance either way.
#68 to #63 - brisineo ONLINE (04/20/2013) [-]
Although no one experiences certain drugs the same way, (take me for example, who gets really nauseated and gains no pleasure whenever I take any strong opiate) statistics show that there is a higher chance of getting involved with heavier drugs after doing weed. Does this mean you will? No.

But does it get you more involved in the crowd these harder drugs are passed around, and let you get more used to the feeling of being high? Yes. It's kind of why police especially warn against pot so much, because they're dealing with enough crackheads as it is, and it's better to nip it at the bud and prevent a susceptible kid from smoking weed, than to deal with a raving lunatic on bath salts a few years later.
User avatar #69 to #68 - TheHutchie (04/20/2013) [-]
Here, JipJop. This is a sensible and well thought out statement.

As I said, I take no stance either way, but I respect your ability to think out and make a good case. And that, simply, is that.
#70 to #62 - John Cena (04/20/2013) [-]
i will not tolerate this misuse of magic.

i would rather point out alcohol to be the sinner here, like with all drugs its to take a break from the world, there is use and misuse, if you take something each day you have an addiction/problem. if you do it in the weekends that tolerable, if you smoke weed everyday your a junkie, if you drink everyday your a saint.

no its not harmless it can **** up ur psych if ur already unstable. weed only enhances feelings, but its on no way as strong as alcohol.

gateway drug my dick maybe 1-2% go on doing harder stuff while the rest starts there, the only other drug im interested is psychedelics and that is not harmfull at all but can **** you severly up if done in wrong setting. i just think that weed should be an alternative to alcohol i cant stand the stuff and keep the **** away from drunk people, its you as a person who decide what to do in ur consious mind. when ur on alcohol you can get offered crack and you wouldent say no.
