To be fair-I get this. Girls ARE called bossy, wheras it's called 'leadership' in boys and it makes women think they can't voice their opinions in group situations or say what they think the group should do. Makes sense to me-denying it means you haven't seen much of it, but I have a daughter and a son and see it a lot. And in the office, I've noticed women being called bossy when stuff we say is just called 'taking the lead'. We have it pretty easy dude.

From what it seems to me girls get called bossy when people don't like something they've done in a leadership role or act as a leader when maybe they aren't in the position for it, and it is just an insult or criticism like all the others. When its a guy he just gets called a dick or a control freak. At least this is how i have seen it at my workplace. Also the point they said about it discouraging women from school leadership roles is utterly ridiculous because at school level and university level, there are far more women applying for and part of student government positions than there are men. Banning a word is a stupid idea and is against the philosophy of freedom of speech/opinion, and even if people do stop using it, new words will undoubtedly replace them. And why is it that people disregard terms like "nerd" and "suck up" which have a far greater negative effect on students making them want to not study in order to fit in, while "bossy" which is a term that few use and even fewer are offended by is high on the priority list. It's all a stupid movement in my opinion, but thanks for sharing yours
