I think what he meant was that there isn't such a thing as inedible food. If it's inedible it's not food.

Food that doesn't rot? How could this bee? I must call my honey and inform her. This may sting her brain a little, though. Beelieve me, I don't want that... ah well, guess I'll have to go to plan BEE of getting my nectar in her rectum.

This is talking about things produced by insects, but not the insects themselves

But he didn't really so that

no one probably cares, but here it goes...only processed and pasteurized honey doesn't rot. Honey that is in the comb can ferment if there is too much moisture, it happens a lot in tropical climates where there is a lot of humidity. The honey has to be collected really quickly to prevent rot. And although fermented honey sounds like awesome alcohol, it's actually really gross

If I remember correctly fermented honey is mead.

While this may be true, honey is indeed resistant to rotting because it contains an ultra-stable sugar molecule called trehalose.

actually, it doesn't need pasteurization, they've found honey in Egyptian tombs that was perfectly edible, despite being well over two thousand years old.

Basically it just needs to be harvested and put in a container.

Noun
Any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink, or that plants absorb, in order to maintain life and growth.

Salt fits this definition. We require salt to live.

Motha. ******. Salt licks.

I mean eventually it would kill you but eating just honey would be just as harmful in the long run too.

If you start thinking like that, then most electrolyes would count too.

I think by food, in this post, they mean any substance containg carbohydrates/fat/protein. These all rot because they get omnomnom'd by other organisms.

Except honey, apparantly?

KCl is delicious too I fully support adding it to the list of foods that doesn't rot. and honey doesn't rot because it basically kills anything small enough to cause rotting.

Honey is a murderer.
