The answer is no, because her data wasn't broken, it was just rearranged.

nothing is broken... just it's bits rearranged...

What kousei said. Plus, she was still glitchy as **** even when her code was "fixed".
User avatar #63 to #14 - vgmddg (04/24/2014) [-]
When something is broken, isn't that just when parts of it are rearranged such that it's unusable? Assuming that's the backstory, it's basically the same thing here.
User avatar #67 to #63 - motposters ONLINE (04/25/2014) [-]
when data is rearranged it isnt broken, it happens all the time in computers, DEFRAGMENT

This. Broken English. Yes?

That's what causes a glitch dude, the code is broken up. A general meaning can be discerned but it's incomplete.

Currently learning programming, I assure you if you rearranged my code and called it not broken I'd smack you upside the head.

I'm pretty sure as long at you rearrange with your nests in the right order it wouldn't matter

Sure worked wonders on those bars though... You'd think it'd at least do something for her, even if it didn't fix everything. Would be worth a try at least.

Once the application is launched, the code cannot be rewritten.

User avatar #39 to #38 - lyiat ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
That doesn't change the fact that programs can be rewritten while the program is actively running. **** , it even happens in the ******* movie! The villian re-writes the game to make himself into the King and makes everyone forget the girl is the queen!
User avatar #40 to #39 - sinery (04/24/2014) [-]
Again, closed system.
Yeah, but he cheats and thus break all rules.
User avatar #42 to #40 - lyiat ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
There is zero in-universe justification to state that her glitch couldn't be fixed. It demonstrates quite clearly that the code can be ****** with actively while the system is running and that both appearance and behavior can be recoded dynamically.
User avatar #44 to #42 - sinery (04/24/2014) [-]
Yes, but only if you cheat.
The hammer isn't a cheat.
User avatar #45 to #44 - lyiat ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
The bugs weren't cheating.
User avatar #46 to #45 - sinery (04/24/2014) [-]
When he entered the code room he cheated.
There was even a goddamn key combination thingy to open the door.
User avatar #47 to #46 - lyiat ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
And the bugs, from the other game, actively destroyed and rewrote code. Including Turbo himself, to make him into a giant monster. They weren't cheating.

Felix's hammer fixes **** that's broken. A glitch is a broken code. Ergo, it'd fix her.
User avatar #52 to #47 - sinery (04/24/2014) [-]
The bugs simply interacted with the environment and adapted.
User avatar #53 to #52 - lyiat ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
And since when did the environment have code that permitted it to be dynamically altered in such drastic ways? Hell, the video games aren't even closed system. They're bloody interconnected with one another through a hub.

Just because the game resets, doesn't mean that the code is changed; only it's values.

It'd kind of be a bit meta... Since the game's actual programming was changed, from the perspective of inside the game world, she isn't broken, as she is how she is currently programmed to be (however malfunctioning that may be), while clearly from the outside something is broken with her.

Maybe Fix-It Felix's hammer can only fix damage that happens within the confines of the game world, in other words, no programming was harmed in the causing of that destruction, his hammer merely resets it to what the objects programming currently says it is.

I've never seen Elope it Edward, so I thought this was a sexual joke where the hammer is his penis
User avatar #31 - beasert (04/24/2014) [-]
I think he would have to hit the source code since that was where the problem originated.
#29 - asurasxnight (04/24/2014) [-]
possibly yes. we know that when he hits something with his hammer, damage levels done to objects are removed and may even reinforce objects. hitting her with the hammer may make her stop glitching, or it may make her go into a growth spurt and get some big titties. or do nothing.

**mydreams rolled image** I have been thinking of this for the very beginning when the movie came out: If there is an Arcade Universe inside some arcade and obviously other arcades have the same games so would there be another Arcade Universe in other arcades so there is an alternative Arcade Universe in the same universe and what if an arcade would have two Wreck it Ralph machines would there be two ralph's and felix's or would they just two jobs at the same time. I am excited for Wreck it Ralph 2.
