Let me guess...

You are any of the following:
-Fat
-Ugly
-Nerdy(also socially awkward)
-Annoying as ****

So, since every single girl you ever met, "friend-zoned" you. You simply gave up and decided to label yourself as "asexual".

Keep lying to yourself mate...
#81 to #48 - anon (08/31/2013) [-]
That's not entirely fair, why would you even do that?

What purpose did it serve to post your preconceptions about asexuality?

Internet, freedom to be a dick, enjoy your freedom I guess.

Why is this being thumbed up? thegrayfox was making fun of some idiot that called himself asexual. This is the internet, when someone says something stupid they get made fun of.

#210 to #48 - professorrowan ONLINE (08/31/2013) [-]
I'm a little bit nerdy but not enough to make girls avoid me, and I've never been friend-zoned because I've never wanted to date a girl, I tend to avoid them because I am socially awkward but I also avoid guys too because I don't like interacting with other people regardless of gender
User avatar #312 to #210 - thegrayfox (08/31/2013) [-]
So... Yeah, socially awkward dude who gave up on pussy, because he knows he wouldn't get any if he tried.

Got it.
#321 to #312 - professorrowan ONLINE (08/31/2013) [-]
how can I give up on something I've never tried or wanted to try, I avoid girls, because I don't want sex, and I don't like interacting with people, if you think giving up on sex is so easy why don't you try going a month without it
User avatar #357 to #321 - thegrayfox (08/31/2013) [-]
Because having sex is absolutely the ONLY reason to talk to people?

You avoid girls because you're an awkward nerdy **** . But again, keep lying to yourself.
#365 to #357 - professorrowan ONLINE (08/31/2013) [-]
being asexual isn't the only reason I avoid people, it's one of the reasons though
User avatar #480 to #365 - thegrayfox (08/31/2013) [-]
But see, that's why you're so full of **** .

The fact that you acknowledge that you avoid people because of sex, means that you acknowledge it as an urge.

If you were TRULY asexual (which is rare) being around people wouldn't bother you, because sex wouldn't even occur to you.

On the other hand, the fact that you're a social cripple just proves you're an evolutionary reject, combined with your "asexual" preference.
#487 to #480 - anon (09/01/2013) [-]
He said one, one of the the reasons, meaning there are more reasons: Meaning this can be a minor reason.

#320 to #26 - mathafaka (08/31/2013) [-]
really? I don't know but as you can see every creature is alive thanks to reprodiction, every form of life is programmed in DNA to reproduce themselves, everything in nature is about sex, just look at the animals they fight for the female, have you ever seen a dog that would say meh, i am not gonna **** that bitch, THEY **** EVEN YOUR LEG, every creature wants to reproduc...

saying that you are asexual is an excuse for not getting laid ever...

just sayin'

#322 to #320 - professorrowan ONLINE (08/31/2013) [-]
saying I'm asexual is not an excuse, it's an explanation for why I've never gotten laid, it's because I don't want to, so I avoid girls, and all people in general
#324 to #322 - mathafaka (08/31/2013) [-]
thats not normal mate, maybe some people call it asexualism or something like that

but thats like saying meh i don't see any need of breathing
User avatar #382 to #324 - rhiaanor (08/31/2013) [-]
no it's really not, asexualism is a thing, not everything is about sex for humans, which are higherups to animals so quit comparing their methods to ours. INB4 we are animals. Asexualism is probably just something along the lines of a complete lack of the hormones and **** necessary to care for sex. It makes sense, sort of like that old explanation for gays.
#462 to #382 - sados (08/31/2013) [-]
The only reasons i can think of for you to be asexual.
1. You have complications with you're genitalia
2. A complete lack of hormones/sexual desires (As you stated)
3. Every Man/Woman you can **** don't deserve to reproduce (i.e Stupid, Bigoted christian)
#415 to #382 - anon (08/31/2013) [-]
If asexualism was a thing, i dont think it would be anything biological because that wouldnt work.

#413 to #382 - anon (08/31/2013) [-]
Asexuality is counter-evolutionary. It ISN'T normal. You can't dispute that. It happens, but its not in any way normal.
#408 to #320 - anon (08/31/2013) [-]
Yes every creature is alive to reproduction but it doesn't count every single one; cause certain animals can be gay and that doesn't lead to reproduction: So not every form of life is programmed to reproduce themselves. Saying you're asexual doesn't mean **** - it just means you aren't attracted to either gender: Why the **** is this such a big ******* deal? Can't people just understand "I may not like sex at all, I'm the 1% according to a study in 2004."
#428 to #320 - myshipsailedwoutme (08/31/2013) [-]
You could say the same thing about homosexuality; it does as little in the way of reproduction as asexuality does. If you don't you're a hypocrite.
User avatar #29 to #26 - thepastryistrue (08/31/2013) [-]
Especially out of religious reasons. It's just primitive castigation in another robe. In an enlightened society there's certainly no place for behaviour like that.
User avatar #35 to #29 - warlordstuart (08/31/2013) [-]
Cheap shot. Abstinance till marriage is fine, and in fact helps focus self discipline, which many people in this world sorely lack. Also, with all of the STD's out there and other crazy **** that can happen its STILL not a bad idea. although, my wife and i ****** like rabbits before and after we were married...soooo.....

However, their reasoning is stupid. Married couples can do whatever the hell they want in a bedroom in Christianity. >.> Their stupid "double holy" relationship is the dumbest thing I ever heard, their marriage will end horribly, most likely in violence.

You sparked my interest when you mentioned that you were asexual and I was hoping you could answer a few questions.

- Do you feel physical pleasure when engaging in sexual activities?

- If so, why do you never partake in sexual activities? Regardless of the fact that you are attracted to a person, you could still enjoy the basic physical pleasure of sex or masturbation. Since pleasures are a great deal in life such as enjoying a good meal, listening to good music, laughing with friends,... all these activities activate the reward pathways in the brain with release of dopamine causing happiness etc which would also be the case for you?

Sorry for my ignorance. Perhaps you just don't have the need for it even though it does feel good similar to how other people might not 'need' to enjoy good food or don't care much for music etc?
#477 to #466 - anon (08/31/2013) [-]
I am not professorrowan however I wish to clarify, or add, a few things for you since you seem interested: Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone or low or absent interest in sexual activity. If you're Asexual you can find pleasure in certain sexual activities: There are different levels of Asexuality like how there different levels of Bisexuality, Google "The Kinsey Scale" if you don't understand. So yes if you're Asexual, thought not all, you can find pleasure from sexual activities.

I hate to be that asshole who throws questions at you, but are you really asexual? Because almost every aspect of psychology, biology, and evolution relates to sex in some way. I don't mind questions as long as you're genuinely curious and not trying to find an inconsistency and prove that I'm lying, I really am asexual, sex has never been appealing I didn't just lose interest one day, and guys are just as unappealing as girls so I'm not gay either

As for people who say it isn't important.. it is. Sex releases the chemical oxytocin which causes bonding and feeling close to each other, and endorphin's which make you feel good and happy. So sex is a means of making a couple feel even more together because it creates the attachment that keeps the relationship going.

However, I suspect you don't pay part of your paycheck to them, have them depend on your emotional support, nor have you sworn a vow to never be friends with any other people. You don't sleep in the same bed as them every night. Your friends don't care if you (privately) watch porn and masturbate. A marriage without sex is like a friendship where your presence is not acknowledged.
User avatar #464 to #323 - admiralen ONLINE (08/31/2013) [-]
except i could still have other friends, im there for my friends if they need emotional support, i just wont screw other people, but thats just a promise

What do you mean you don't have sex with your friends? I have sex with all my friends and they all love it.

I can't stand it when people do this.

If you don't have a high, or even average sex drive, that's perfectly fine. But it's not fair to expect whoever you're in a relationship with to cater to it and make them feel disgusting when they're not satisfied with getting it once every blue moon and act like THEY'RE the ones with the abnormal hormone level, not you.

Sex IS important in a relationship. it brings a lot of emotional satisfaction and, for me personally, makes me feel VERY close to whoever I'm with. The only time I'd say sex doesn't matter is if both people are asexual or something.

I have nothing against people with low sex drives, don't get me wrong. I understand not everyone is going to want to have sex on a regular basis. It's just when they force their lack of desire on their partner with no remorse, at all, that gets to me.

It's unhealthy to not have it.

Also if you don't get off your body's testosterone spikes initially and then drops. Maybe women are trying to emasculate men.

If it's unhealthy to not have it, how do you explain the fact that celibate monks (both Christian and Buddhist), who lived their entire lives without sexual intercourse, lived such long and healthy lives... ?

Depriving your partner of sex is date rape in reverse.

sex IS important in a relationship
though people need to remember, sex is a PERK of a relationship not the REASON for the relationship
#360 to #128 - mantou (08/31/2013) [-]
it's a perk when you have plenty of it. but becomes a problem when you have none

Saying sex isn't important in a relationship is like saying you 'don't need to have oil in your cars engine.'

******* seriously.
User avatar #32 - robertolee (08/31/2013) [-]
If you're not having sex, is it not just an intimate friendship? I think sex pretty much defines a relationship and I use it as a way to strengthen a relationship. I think its the defining factor in a relationship.

Well it's not THAT important.
