Oklahoma Listeni/ˌoʊkləˈhoʊmə/[8] (Cherokee: ᎣᎦᎳᎰᎹ (òɡàlàhoma), Pawnee: Uukuhuúwa,[9] Cayuga: Gahnawiyoˀgeh[10]) is a state located in the South Central United States.[11] Oklahoma is the 20th most extensive and the 28th most populous of the 50 United States. The state's name is derived from the Choctaw words okla and humma, meaning "red people".[12] It is also known informally by its nickname, The Sooner State, in reference to the non-Native settlers who staked their claims on the choicest pieces of land prior to the official opening date, and the Indian Appropriations Act of 1889, which opened the door for white settlement in America's Indian Territory. The name was settled upon statehood, Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory were merged and Indian was dropped from the name. On November 16, 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th state to enter the union. Its residents are known as Oklahomans or, informally "Okies", and its capital and largest city is Oklahoma City.

A major producer of natural gas, oil, and agricultural products, Oklahoma relies on an economic base of aviation, energy, telecommunications, and biotechnology.[13] In 2007, it had one of the fastest growing economies in the nation, ranking among the top states in per capita income growth and gross domestic product growth.[14][15] Oklahoma City and Tulsa serve as Oklahoma's primary economic anchors, with nearly two-thirds of Oklahomans living within their metropolitan statistical areas.[16]

With small mountain ranges, prairie, mesas, and eastern forests, most of Oklahoma lies in the Great Plains and the U.S. Interior Highlands—a region especially prone to severe weather.[17] In addition to having a prevalence of English, German, Scottish, Scotch-Irish, and Native American ancestry, more than 25 Native American languages are spoken in Oklahoma,[18] second only to California.

Oklahoma is located on a confluence of three major American cultural regions and historically served as a route for cattle drives, a destination for southern settlers, and a government-sanctioned territory for Native Americans.

That must be why I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it because everyone else crapped on it. I saw all the other ones.

It doesn't have to stick to the comics, the only people that get upset over this like that are fa/tg/uys. I actually like it when a story recreates itself, but I don't mind it when they stick to the story.
User avatar #19 to #18 - DJstar (07/19/2014) [-]
to me it was fine. people need to learn it's an adaptation. it's not meant to be spot on. it's the director's homage to the series in his own look.
that being said, the director ****** up when he raped deadpool's character. to me, that wasn't deadpool. **** that.

Nice. Does the manga go over the alternate history? By the look of the soldiers it seems Germany won WW2, or japan since the writing in the movie is in Japanese.

User avatar #68 to #39 - lyiat (07/19/2014) [-]
They're bounded with adamantium. it's a bit more complex than layering, but not exactly replacing. It's more effective to say that his bones are basically made out of a calcium adamantium alloy now. It would be literally impossible to separate them at this point. Unless you are Magneto (Yes, he did this once.)

As someone who has be over this before. Vibranium is a paradoxical metal that absorbs more physical energy the stronger in impact is. Meaning Rogers experienced very little force from the impact of Thors hammer even when it weighs as much as a neutron star. This does not mean the shield is indestructible though, as I remember hearing about a time when it needed to be fixed in asgard. But as I don't read the comics please refer to someone who has knowledge on that topic for more info.
User avatar #31 to #27 - kanadetenshi (07/19/2014) [-]
Does that mean that a little tap would create an incredibly strong impact?
User avatar #48 to #27 - mcstorms (07/19/2014) [-]
I will further enlighten your statement. You see you are correct in everything you said however the shield isn't vibranium. It is a vibranium Anamantium alloy. Not only can absorb massive amounts of force but is also very sturdy. The only time the shield broke to my knowledge is when loki got hold of the odin force. He then used that to destroy the shield.
User avatar #89 to #48 - vortexrain (07/19/2014) [-]
His kid, the Serpent, once broke the shield with his bear hands.
User avatar #90 to #89 - mcstorms (07/19/2014) [-]
who's kid?
User avatar #92 to #90 - vortexrain (07/19/2014) [-]
I was thinking it was Loki's kid, but I read the passage to quickly. It was Odin's brother, the Asgardian god of Fear.
User avatar #51 to #27 - danzaiver (07/19/2014) [-]
actually, thor's hammer isn't as heavy as a neutron star. this is a common mistake because people think it was made out of a neutron star, but was only forged using the flame of a neutron star. the reason characters like the hulk can't lift it is not because it's so heavy, but because they are unworthy. in fact, captain america once wielded it because he was deemed "worthy" of wielding it.
User avatar #91 to #51 - mcstorms (07/19/2014) [-]

On light research, It appears his shield was destroyed once, and broken a few times.

-Molecule man disintegrating it, and claiming it was weirder than both Thors hammer and the board of the Silver surfer which he also destroyed. It was later reassembled by him.
-Dr. Doom partially broke the shield with the power of a god, but Rogers was badass enough to use a broken shield to kick ass still, he later wished it back into one piece when the god Doom was using was freed.
-Thanos uses the infinity gauntlet to shatter then shield, it is later brought back by Nebula using the same gauntlet.
-Thor dents the shield in Avengers #3, possibly the same fight we see in the movie, but Thor repairs it later.
-Odin's brother Serpent shatters the shield with his bare hands, and it's later repaired by Asgardian dwarves.

"God" gives Captain America a wish and he uses it for himself.....mayyybe. I'd hope he'd be torn a bit twixt something altruistic and Mah Sheeld..

ok I'll stop being a weiner, I'd want my badass shield back too to save the world over and over..
#30 to #27 - thatguyontheright ONLINE (07/19/2014) [-]
Misconception. Thor's hammer doesn't weigh as much as a neutron star, it was forged in one (well a dying star), and according to Marvel, it only weighs 42 lbs. But the reason Thor can lift it is because he is worthy to wield it...like Excalibur.

(Source for the weight comes from a Thor's Hammer trading card from 1991)
#60 to #30 - monkeybotlove (07/19/2014) [-]
Jebus 42 lbs is still a bit heavy for a no-lifter..
#80 to #60 - hellboundstrength (07/19/2014) [-]
thor lifts, even if he had no powers and was mortal but alas, he's a god and a he's as strong as the hulk and we've seen the hulk toss things far heavier than 42lbs like it's a softball so thor wielding a hammer that weighs only 42lbs but pack enough power to go through entire planets when thrown is reason enoguh why he's the strongest of the avengers

Vibranium perfectly absorbs all vibration, so kinetic energy is worthless.
User avatar #84 to #67 - malhaloc (07/19/2014) [-]
Isn't it a vibranium-adamantium alloy? Indestructible and absorbs all kinetic energy?
#102 to #84 - IamPinhead (07/19/2014) [-]
I thought it was forged from vibranium. If it absorbs all kinetic energy it's effectively unbreakable from kinetic energy, since vibration is how it breaks. Also that Mjolnir was made from Neutronium, which would make the Destroyer ******* heavy (neutronium has a density of 4x10^17 kg/m^3).
