Everything else aside; Why are little kids being asked to write letters to veterans, when they don't know the reasons, the consequences or the anything of war, veterans or anything? It just sounds odd to me to make them thank people for something they don't understand. And this is not being against veterans, or anything. It may make them glad to receive letters from little kids

******** ALERT
User avatar #15 - tronbot (11/22/2013) [-]
yes because it's completely believable that a little kid would use that complex spelling for "war" yet spell fighting as "fitting". 0/10 not funny try harder

What the **** did you just ******* say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in guerilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the **** out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my ******* words. You think you can get away with saying that **** to me over the Internet? Think again, ****** . As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re ******* dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little **** . If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your ******* tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will **** fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re ******* dead, kiddo.

"Thank you for fighting in the war"
Forgive me if i am wrong but since when is glorifying war in the eyes of children a good thing?

I mean seriously, having CHILDREN thank veterans for **** they are most likely not proud of?
That is ******* low in my books.
Imagine you are fighting in a war and just killed a person for the first time and feel like a complete piece of **** then you get a letter from children thanking you for doing it...

I honestly just think that as a child he / she does not understand the morality issue of war. So he or she cannot truly vocalize their thoughts effectively. I don't think war is glorified in the western world, but that soldiers are giving up a noble sacrifice. With that being said, whether you agree with how or who they are fighting is irrelevant to the matter, as they are not the ones that make the call. Nor is it fair to say them following orders is against human nature and wrong. Honestly, I think soldiers should be revered regardless of someone's belief when it comes to patriotism, or the nature of war. The soldiers do not make the shots, the politicians do. Although some soldiers do not have honorable intentions, I think most have honest and noble aspirations.
User avatar #13 to #11 - vindictivenature (11/22/2013) [-]
And I would hope that a soldier would not take the children's wording as seriously, and just respect the gesture
User avatar #14 to #13 - TwiztidNinja (11/22/2013) [-]
Maybe having high school students write to soldiers would be a suitable thing to do but children that do not even grasp the concept of war should not be involved in any way whatsoever.

My grandfather served in the National Guard, my great Grandfather served in World War 2. Listening to what they have said about war I can conclude you are a dickhead.

We aren't glorify war by honoring veterans, we are thanking them for their sacrifice.
User avatar #44 to #40 - TwiztidNinja (11/22/2013) [-]
I am not saying don't honour veterans, my great grand father and great grand mother fought in ww2 and i respect them immensely for doing so, but war is not a thing kids should be involved with, by the low comprehension and lack of caring for the task it seems like this was a class of 6 year old's.

The fact that you do not realise doing this is part of war propaganda shows your ignorance on the subject.
Introduce it to them young so when they are old enough to comprehend the subject they do not run around yelling "No more wars"

Elementary school students are writing post cards to veterans basically thanking them for killing people?
WTF is wrong with you guys over there?
I'm just gonna assume it's the usa where this is coming from.
Seriously your attitude is sick somehow.
User avatar #46 - kaycie (11/22/2013) [-]
what little kid sounds out the word 'war' as W-H-O-R-E
User avatar #48 to #46 - spearpwi (11/22/2013) [-]
Well lets see. "Where" uses similar grapheme's and the kid may have just learned to spell that word when learning about homonyms. An easy mistake to make for a young child.

I don't get how she could misspell war and spell whore correctly. You would think a first grader would have a harder time with the silent w.
User avatar #6 to #3 - skyroskus (11/22/2013) [-]
I see it easily, especially if you think about the word "WHERE" the 'e' sound becomes an 'or' sound and we get "WHORE" ......THE MORE YOU KNOW !
