It's because alot of the borders in USA were divided on a map, whereas in England the border disputes evolved over centuries between individuals ('this pond is our land', 'okay well we are taking this tree' etc = squiggly lines)

Uhm, perhaps you put borders accordingly to geographical features of the land and that was the most convenient for that particular area. While in the bloody deserts and plains, it does not play that big role so you can just put straight lines as borders... And since that part of the world didn't go trough as much mess as Europe and the rest of the world, they could actually plan it's construction?

That's still fairly linear in comparison.

If you look at, say, new england, for example, you can see englands influence on our border making quite clearly, and then you head west and the maps all, "murricized" cuz freedom, that's why.

Roads in the wast are also set up in a square pattern for ease (main roads mostly)

I don't like it in Kent, I live on the Romney Marsh and the internet sucks.

I live in a valley, and the internet sucks here too. Literally every 10 minutes I disconnect, it drives me crazy.
