You think your parents are giving you the stink eye because you proved them wrong.

When in fact, they're just disgusted by the fact that the little prick who they've been feeding, sheltering, clothing for its entire life is even arguing with them.

The way this community likes to rip on religion for ************ the masses I'm actually surprised you're willing to accept the ******** your parents are likely to spew every once and a while, by accident, because they provide for you. While I appreciate the fact that they ensured I'm still alive today, I will not stand there and accept that a kilometer is longer than a mile, especially not after the ******** I had to put up with in school.

I didn't say they knew better.
Just that its hard to hold an argument with someone who's had to wiped your ass because you couldn't stop ******** yourself.

I know that might seem like ancient history to you (the wipee) but to someone as old as your parents (the wiper) it was just yesterday.

There's an old saying- "Don't bite the hand that feeds you". Roughly, it means if you depend on someone, its in your best interest to stfu and smile, no matter how retarded they are being.

Except that the moment we start treating someone as though they're infallible, for any reason, is the moment we give mankind a kind of power they have no claim to. You can be the most important person in someone's life, but that still doesn't mean you have a free pass to any amount of ******** you can think of. That kind of **** is how a cult starts.

You still have so much to learn about how things really work.
I know this because you are obviously young enough to still think about the world in idealistic terms.

One day, when you have kids of your own, you will both thank your parents, and apologize.

At which point they will smile knowingly, point at your child and say "Tag, bitch. Your turn."

Yet I'm still going to be humble enough to realize that there will be a point in my life where that little ****** going to know more than I do about something. Hell, it's guaranteed if he takes after my Dad and his unnatural interest in History.

You have some kind of ego only rivaled by the Pharaohs themselves if you honestly think that it's moral to think you're infallible just because you were able to spew some kind out of your naughty bits. No man is infallible, and to think otherwise is the exact definition of both arrogance and obliviousness.

Do me a favor.
Save this thread.
Reread in 15 years.
Laugh.

I'm talking about how its generally a good idea to show your elders respect, and that in life, its usually a good idea to just smile when someone you depend on entirely is having a moment of stupid.

You're equating it to social political ideals.
Because you think the two relate.

Its cute.

Really? Because I've been told half of this **** by both my Dad, and half of the squad leaders in my company who are old enough to be my Dad that when someone is wrong, and you know they're wrong, you let them know no matter how old, or ranked they are. You must be one dense ************ if you're honestly willing to accept ******** you know is ******** just because you're too afraid to speak up against someone you think is better than you. That's not being respectful, that's being submissive. So OK, I'll wait the 15 years necessary to laugh at this conversation.

Dude.
My mom said the sun wasn't a star.
So I proved her wrong.
