Cool and all but it doesn't really answer the question.

no, the answer is no

Essentially we could, but it would be slow, not very strong for it's size, and insanely expensive. Conventional weaponry would be more efficient and more effective for just about any kind of war.

"would require compact and powerful nuclear reactors or as-yet unknown energy sources."

I'm guessing that means "no" as well as the whole "strength does not scale with size" thing but that's what I got from it.

Only says this about the pacific rim robot though, but the other ones it doesn't really say if we could build them or not.

it kinda does
it says that to power the machine we would need an exponential amount of power
one that has yet to be made or discovered
so that is a negatory
i like this post for the soul purpose they included an eva from evangelion

Exactly what I was thinking. It explains some problems with the biggest one, but doesn't really say whether or not we could build the smaller ones (the Neon Genesis one, or the Avatar one)

Actually the EVA units are biological, not mechanical. In other words they were grown.

DARPA is actually really close to creating an exoskeleton similar to the Avatar one. But last I heard it's still in the developing stages. They already have prototypes though that are pretty cool.

I was about to say how them simply moving would probably **** up the whole universe because of their gigantic masses.

But then I remember that it's an anime.

Loved Gurran Lagann
But I believe people are looking for actually obtainable technology
I can't even imagine powering something using spiral power

Aww yes, Zoids really needs a live action movie, or movies. They could make a movie following the storylinbes of the various shows or could create a new story...

I think the organic mecha could work, but we first have to reach the point, where we are able to create electronic devices out of organic matter.

actually games workshop has kinda of assfuked all its 'facts' about titans....

in one account, in a book called 'storm of iron' somehow a warlord, despite it being less than half the size of an imperator, was able to headbutt an imperator
- and in the same book, the Imp used its combat weapon on a warlord and it was able to fight back a bit before it died - (well **** the saw is the same size as the warlord, what would be left of it to fight back?)

or in the horus heresy novels, one imperator titan was described as being able to carry an entire company of guardsmen in its leg bastions......
but then when the Imp is drawn it doesnt look that big
