Science and religion don't actually have to be quite opposed as people think.

For instance, the Catholic church actually says nothing against the theory of Evolution, and encourages its followers to interpret the Bible, rather than to read it literally.

There are fundamentalists, however, who do read every line literally, and that is where conflict ensues. This does not represent the majority of your every day religious people. They just happen to have the loudest voices.

There are plenty of religious people who know evolution is real too.

We don't tolerate that kind of tolerance around here.

I challenge people to go to wikipedia and read up on the theory of evolution.
A lot of what you think is the theory of evolution is sci-fi, not what Darwin proposed.

Jesus, is it Religion Bashing Day and I just didn't get the memo?

That is the dumbest ******* thing I've ever heard.
Are those 436 favorites of people who actually agree with him, or who just like the fact that it's so goddamn retarded? I'm hoping for the latter.

Why would you stand for (and spread!) something of which you're not even sure is real?!
That just makes you look like a ******* retard, even more so than still taking God, the Bible, or the Koran for truth, things invented 3500 years ago to create some (mostly) logical basic laws and values in a society to keep people from doing stupid **** .

*sigh* what he is saying is that he is no scientist, and does not fully understand the science behind evolution, however he is well aware that people who choose to ignore the science and believe in books written forever ago by a bunch of sheep ******* as the facts of the situation are ******* retarded. He's smart enough to know an idiot when he see's one, without being smart enough to actually refute them himself.

I have a degree in Molecular Biology and find no contradictions between my faith and the science I have learned. It has only strengthened it to be honest. I'm Catholic though, so we are allowed to believe in evolution. There is no reason science and religion cannot coexist. The theory of Genetics and the Big Bang were invented by Cathoic priests for crying out loud.

"I'm too dumb to know if it's real, but I'm smart enough to believe in it"

So where did he say that creationists are idiots?
God I hate these posts.

Thats one of the most retarded things I've ever heard.

"I believe in something. You don't believe in the same thing. Therefore you are stupid"

You are on the internet, probably no one will listen to you. Let it be, stop all that useless rage.

Creationism =/= against evolution

If evolution is real, where are the half-human and half-monkeys. Or the half-alligators and half-frogs. Oh.....we were the ONLY ONES......yeah. Sounds more like a THEORY. Just like religion. Yet Joe Rogan is going to try to cram his "beliefs" down my throat. Scientists just found out that the universe is 80 million years older than predicted. Really? Like, were the scientists there chillen when it happened? It's also a theory as is religion. I just know I'm allergic to retarded people, like Joe Rogan.

We are not the only ones, every living thing on this plant is an evolved form of it's prehistoric animals. We are not half monkey's half humans. We are humans that evolved from a species of monkeys. Meaning, not all monkeys evolved into humans. We are the so far only intellectually superior species.

Nah, scratch that, I don't have time to go into full length explanation now, gotta test in 20 mins. Long story short: Your comment is retarded.

That annoys me actually, because I do not like people preaching about things that they do not actually understand. He's right, but not in a good way.

Here's my point of view on christianity and religion in general

Religion should be used for daily routines and such
but not in any way used for point of view on anything else unless specifically asked.

And creation in my eyes is just the way the universe started, the big bang happened, there was light, several years later, matter slowed down and formed the elements, and the stars, or the heavens and earth. Then, as matter cooled, stars were formed and proto-planets started to orbit those suns. Day and night. Then, the oxygen and hydrogen clouds come to those planets and form water, but it was all just a mush for awhile untill the breaks in the crust came about. Seas and land. Then, several million years of evolution came and went and we are left with Homo sapiens. Man and woman.
Bam.

I honestly see religion as a way of explaining things that we have never known how to explain, and never will explain, and it has some of the mental properties on humans the way that science cant.

anyways, long story short, Religion and science should be different, and there was a quote from a man
"The funny thing about evolution is that even if you dont believe in it, it still exists."

Lots of posts about evolution today, all comments swarmed by people who don't know **** about evolution.
Intelligent design seems insane when we think of all the horrible birth defects there are in the world and even disregarding those there are draw backs to the design of every animal on earth. For example the way human beings walk exposes vital organs to predators and causes back and knee problems.
However, I was told the hypothesis that your daily routine and surroundings affected your DNA slowly over time, but as I learned more and more I learned that hypothesis was false and evolution was completely natural selection based on random mutation. This theory is of course irrefutably simple. But consider bees, all complex life on earth depends on bees pollination of plants, this is irrefutable. But why do they do what they do? Bees colones will make so much honey that they will over flow their hive, and do you know what they do then? They will go somewhere else to make another ******* hive. How could this happen? How could it be that this symbiotic relationship, that all complex life on earth depends on, that for all intensive purposes makes no ******* sense at all occur? Who came first?

TL;DR: Our knowledge of the world is imperfect, we do not know enough about genetics or the young earth to be so certain. Evolution is without a doubt irrefutable, but it does not necessarily have to explain everything. Consider the wider world before you except everything blindly just because its cool to on the internet.

So he doesn't know if evolution is real or not, but whoever doesn't believe in evolution is an idiot? I like Joe Rogan but he needs to rethink that tweet.
