Regarding fact #1
Several hundred years from now, when future generations once again go to the moon they will believe that the Americans did not land there but instead the French in order to pre-emptively surrender to any potential attacking aliens.
#112 to #18 - whiterefrigerator (09/22/2013) [-]
That's why the french never tried to land on the moon. They knew they would win regardless

Fact #3 is wrong. The moon is constantly bombard by space debris, which is what has given the moon its craters. The footprints will be gone within the next 600 years.

Actually the moon is slowly moving away from Earth so we may lose it before the sun engulfs us.
#86 to #83 - draxdiesel (09/22/2013) [-]
the sun would still engulf it though i think. if not then the supernovae afterwards would blow it to smithereenies. whatever happens, time will be around longer than some footprints on the moon
#133 to #86 - michaelch (09/22/2013) [-]
the sun is too small and does not have enough energy to cause a supernova. it will expand greatly and become a red giant, then a white dwarf. the red giant may or may not swallow us. it will be very close
#141 to #133 - draxdiesel (09/22/2013) [-]
true, i forgot that. thanks. the sun is not 1.4 times the mass of the sun haha
User avatar #87 to #86 - sirwolfcat (09/22/2013) [-]
It all depends on when the moon leaves and where it goes.
#89 to #87 - draxdiesel (09/22/2013) [-]
it would still be in orbit around the sun, its not going to escape that. and even if it floated off into deepspace it would still end up being destroyed before time ends

So you are saying the american flags turned french?
#3 - compadrepie (09/21/2013) [-]
But what if a meteor hits the part of the moon which has footprints?
#6 to #3 - theuntakenusername (09/21/2013) [-]
A very plausible theory, since a collision of an asteroid could easily disrupt the moons surface across a large area.

However, I'd like to mention that a meteor is the streak of light you see when an asteroid hits the atmosphere.
User avatar #7 to #3 - emptysuperman (09/21/2013) [-]
Eventually the sun will engulf the Earth and the moon, so the footprints probably won't survive that, either.

Oh hey, glad to see I caught a new series of fact comps. Espically since Space is my favourite subject, well good luck on it incase I miss out on anything.
