When I don't know what to draw, I just start drawing randomly and see what I end up with.

Pretty much, except the "weed" is actually a pair whips that MLKJ and Lincoln are using on the Native Americans.

I have an OC I can describe in detail for you:

Morban, The Fleshtaker. He's a boneless humanoid shaped creature, halfrotten skin peels in places to reveal masses of muscular tendons writhing and twisting around eachother like a colony of worms made from torment. His face is hairless and obscured slightly from darkness as he reaches towards the viewer with his right arm, skin melting and dripping off the arm as if it were wax. The mood is "I am here to torment you." or "I am going to grab you and rape you into tiny peices."

ffs I only get menitoned in the weirdest posts.

Just think of stupid things, I usually just randomly pick something to draw, Hmmmm, ok. Draw a zombie driving a convertable flipping off the viewer.

Just some suggestions

It's bugging me because I'm just sitting with a blank piece of paper and a pencil and nothing to do with it!

I'm sure you'd do well on Tumblr, especially if you indirectly state that you're a girl a lot.

It's easy to keep drawing something once you've got it down right, but you should practice the head/face too

and more muscular detail....plus a better understanding of the body in a three dimensional view....thinner lips if you want to look more natural
User avatar #26 to #25 - matildevinther (02/10/2013) [-]
This is made in paint.. and yea her lips is a leaf because it was something i made to another content, thought you could see that..

User avatar #158 to #153 - nebuchadnezzaurus (02/10/2013) [-]
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I put it up on deviantart, where I have an account, but it got very little views, only 20 or so, like most of my stuff. I'm guessing Newgrounds wouldn't be much different.
User avatar #128 to #122 - ihatem (02/10/2013) [-]
I like this, it reminds me of the Hobbit like the dwarves and bilbo made amends with the giants and a goblin or something.

Do more of this bardic stuff, but this band should play for a village.
A village of sad souls but the audience is enlightened by their music.
And an empty tip jar, with a smiling slum child dropping in a flower.
That's my idea, does it work for you?
User avatar #130 to #128 - nebuchadnezzaurus (02/10/2013) [-]
I like the idea, especially with the tip jar and the flower. Not sure if I want to do a musician / party-themed something, though, just yet, since I just recently made this.

baby, I wish you knew :)

that IS art.

art doesn't have to look good. art doesn't get you an A in a silly class.

Art is when you look inside of yourself , see what makes you, and then make it again.

in any way.

humming a song that you make up on the fly is ART.

making stick figures in MS paint, is art :)

try doing it with a black piece of paper and white calk or even a white crayon even.

don't stop working on it and work on it often even when you think it's done.

before you start, the picture is already on the blank paper. you just have to put it there.
#36 to #34 - xfish (02/10/2013) [-]
Never heard it described that way before.

thanks

Yet Funnyjunk complains how the scribbles found in museums isn't art.
User avatar #61 to #60 - Karfeyenta (02/10/2013) [-]
it's art. of a form.

but people go to museums to appreciate people with a huge amount of talent.

a lot of people say that they have to talent.

I see odd shapes and squiggles as an expression of confusion, or maybe a statement that anything passes for art these days.

others only see squiggles.

life is perspective :) choose yours carefully, friend.
#126 to #60 - anon (02/10/2013) [-]
The true power of art is the story behind it. The real story, not the history of the artist, like on every museum wall.
User avatar #117 - KayRed (02/10/2013) [-]
Write.
#121 to #117 - xfish (02/10/2013) [-]
I do, but its not the same. Humans are such visual creatures and too few of them take the time to read. I know I should create art for myself but something about others looking at what I do and understanding it sort of legitimates it all.
but I can only speak for myself. maybe I'm just going insane
User avatar #124 to #121 - KayRed (02/10/2013) [-]
I personally believe writing is more powerful than visual art. With visual art, despite all the claims of interpretation, what you see is what you get, and that's what the artist wanted you to get. With writing, the author is giving you a base for your imagination to take off. I've never had a drawing effect me emotionally more than a book. So yeah, I agree it's not the same, I believe it's more powerful.
User avatar #123 to #121 - Hreidmar (02/10/2013) [-]
I'll read it. I can't promise I would like it. But I would read it. You actually seem fairly sincere in your statements, as opposed to seeking attention.
User avatar #132 to #121 - UlquiGrimmHime (02/10/2013) [-]

#28 - mammothsquirts (02/10/2013) [-]
Honestly dude, nobody is stopping you.

If you wish you could be an artist, go for it.

Who cares if you're not that good.

Eventually you'll get there.

Also, every draw I've made since I broke with my ex, has something to do with her. Because she was the only love I knew. So.. for me, the most priceless message I can put forward is love. So.. she is my only inspiration.

And this comes in two ways:
the happiness to live at her side
and the loneliness of life without her

Knowing she is out there with someone else... being happy without me

Draw something every day
Look up tutorials
Draw things when you get ideas and draw them again a month later to see your progress

simple things like practice make all the difference

I can't draw anything beautiful...

The only time my drawings look passable or detailed is if I make them ugly....
