It really ticks me off when punk kids in school just sit through half of the pledge, then stand up and give a half ass pledge or some **** , Or when they have to do it in some stupid ass voice to make a joke about it. Can people not devote 15 seconds of their day to give a proper pledge to the men fighting for our country and rights? I swear, so many people take such basic rights we have for granted.
#547 to #533 - bulbakip (06/12/2012) [-]
the pledge is statist propaganda and creppy as hell.

What rights are we currently fighting for?

We're defending our rights sir.

If you want to defend your rights, join a militia.

Not a military that works for the very thing that degrades liberty.

Terrorist threat. Goddamn all of you ******* liberals on this website. I ******* hate every one of you. All you do by insulting ******* soldiers ( ******* PEOPLE RISKING THEIR LIVES TO DEFEND YOURS) is make yourself look like a huge ******* **** . I don't care what the **** you think about the campaign or whatever but don't you go and ******* trash them for going out and risking their own lives because they love their nation, while your ******* bitch ass can only sit behind a goddamn computer and insult these people. I don't give a **** what you think about it but don't you ******* open your ******** of a mouth and insult them. What did they ever do to you? Hate the war, hate the politicians, but don't you ******* go and hate the soldiers. Sacks of **** like you deserve to rot in hell. I just can;t ******* stand it.

I just posted my opinion on Funnyjunk. If you don't like it, get over it and **** yourself.
#623 to #551 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
Would you apply that same principle to Nazi German soldiers fighting in WWII? By the standards you've just set, it would be okay to criticize Hitler and the war, but the German army would have to be treated with the utmost dignity and respect, otherwise that'd make you a "sack of **** " who "deserves to rot in hell."
#636 to #623 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
Well goddamn right look at it from the German's people's perspective, they may have not supported it but if you were one would you not support your soldiers fighting for your country? Do you think the soldiers were portrayed to the German population as heroes? You're a ******* idiot for using this as an example and I just tore you apart. It's all a ******* matter of perspective. Also, anyone who is willing to fight for their country or people is noble for the risks they are taking.
#658 to #636 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
You didn't prove me wrong, in fact you just restated my point exactly. Nazi soldiers were portrayed to the German people as heroes, and they considered fighting for the Nazi cause a noble and courageous act; but surely you believe that it was far more courageous of those who defied the norm and took a stand against the Nazi army and refused to support or even accept the crimes they were committing, do you not?
#688 to #658 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
We're getting on a completely different topic. I see what you're saying but did I say we should throw a parade and bow down to soldiers? No. I said we should show them respect for the risks they are taking for us as citizens of the United States.
#706 to #688 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
No one, as far as I can recall, ever said we should disrespect the soldiers. My main argument, though, is that it's really pointless and quite frankly insulting to insist that, because of sacrifices that may or may not have been for the general good, we should all loyally support the actions of our government.
#711 to #706 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
I went off because I got upset at what people have been posting and saying about our soldiers in general. It just ended up on this thread. Now I have people telling me "facts" about myself.
#741 to #711 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
Someone asked what we were defending our rights from, and you responded "terrorist threat," and then proceed to go on an extremely judgmental and highly offensive tirade about how we were all stupid liberal ***** and that we deserve to die and that we spit on the troops graves and a bunch of other stuff that isn't true.
Just because one commenter had the audacity to ask what we were fighting for.
Really sorry, but I really don't think I can sympathize with you at all here.
#865 to #741 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
The Nazi argument was so weak. Im pretty sure there were many German citizens who thought the Nazi's were a fault. Hitler was a fascist maniac who would kill anyone who spoke out against his ideals, so obviously people just kept their opinions to themselves.
I happen to be a member of USMC who got out out Afghanistan recently. I'm all for free speech. I came across a few people who would not hesitate to blow the **** out of America if they were given the chance. But not that you would understand, because sitting behind a computer complaining about what we were ordered to do is your way of helping, right?

TL;DR? As a United States Marine, I respect, and will continue, to fight for your basic rights such as freedom of speech, despite how trivial you may think these rights are and despite what you may think of my fellow comrades and I. Have a great evening, sir.

yup, fighting in the middle-east really defends the US....

You're just a mindless nut that has been swallowed by the "Go America" propaganda.

You wouldnt question the country you live in, no matter what happend.
If you guys had nuked the entire world, you wouldnt mind, because they are over there, and you're in the best country in the world! GO MERICA!

You dont make any sense, you dont have an opinion of your own.

You're a pawn, a mindless droid. And its thanks to people like you that allowes these idiotic wars from happening and continuing.

People like you are the sole reason why the world is going down the ******* .

Start having your own opinions, start having a voice on your own. And stop having the fake opinion that the goverment and other high lords want you to have.
#628 to #576 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
You sound like a typical liberal **** . You dont ******* know me in any way other than what I've posted here on this website. Personally I think the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is stupid and pointless. Had the US handled 9/11 differently and instead of world policing, went in and ****** up the Terrorist threat everything today would be different. However because the US didn't, I now have family fighting in this conflict and I'm going to fully support them.

You're an idiot for assuming all of these things on me. You're a goddamn fool. I ******* hate what America has become. It's a piece of **** , but should be just let it sink? **** NO. It's my country to I am going to support it, no matter what. I NEVER once said I support the war but I will stand by the men and women fighting for me.

You are a mindless pawn spewing liberal ******** and trying to generalize me falsely.

YOU made YOURSELF look idiotic by assuming all of these things. You know NOTHING of me of about what I believe, SO WHO'S THE ******* IDIOT NOW?
#655 to #628 - hugebull (06/12/2012) [-]
Whats wrong with being a liberal?

And questioning the people in control isnt mindless... following them are.

"went and ****** up the Terrorist threat"
You put this in motion yourself, stop blaming others, the things your country did finally caught up to you.

I feel sorry for the deads familiys during 9/11, my heart goes out to them.
But it was only 1 attack, done by a couple of people.

And you go all nuts and invade an entire country, ******* it up completely, taking their oil, taking their opium.

And you choose to stay there, breaking it even more.

The terrorist threat in the middle-east that you are talking about arnt there, they are people who hate you for what you have done, and to be fair, I would have been in a terrorist group if american soldiers were tearing the country I was born in apart.

You are chasing people who want to get their country back, and you are spitting back, claiming its for freedom and democray, even though you are staioned in multiple countries that dont want you there.

#674 to #655 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
>Implying I'm a brainwashed pawn
>Implying I'm George Bush and invaded a country myself
>Implying I wanted this war to happen
>Implying I embody the American Republican party

I can't even understand how you comment applies to me. I never said I support the war. I support the soldiers. Your argument is literally invalid.
#703 to #674 - hugebull (06/12/2012) [-]
Yes im implying that you're a brainwashed pawn

When did I say you're G.W Bush?

You want to **** the terrorist up... (even though they died in the plane crash).
But you still want to **** something up, so you invade some coutry in the middle-east...

When your saying im a "liberal **** ". It makes you look like a conservative... I never said you were a republican.

User avatar #651 to #628 - bulbakip (06/12/2012) [-]

#642 to #575 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
liberal: one who supports individual liberty

I'm sorry... am I missing something here? I don't exactly see how there could possibly be anything wrong with being a liberal...
I mean, it's always really confused me how you conservatives always talk about how stupid liberalism is, since it seems to me that what you should be doing is trying to prove that you guys are the real liberals and that we're not really liberals even though we say we are. Unless you are openly supportive of oppressive and totalitarian forms of government, I don't really understand why you would be opposed to liberalism...
#649 to #642 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
You're trying to ******** everyone ehre using a definition that doesn't apply to US politics. Shut the **** up. Now at this point you're essentially trolling.
#669 to #649 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
That is the standard definition of liberalism. It's the one I've always used, and the one I've always followed. Obviously, however, this is a point of confusion between the two of us, as we appear to have two different definitions of the term. How do you define liberalism, as it applies to US politics?
#679 to #669 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
Left-wing politics.
#685 to #679 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
See, again, left-wing, to me at least, has always been synonymous with freedom and libertarianism, whereas right-wing essentially means authoritarianism. Can you please explain to me what these terms mean to you?
#692 to #685 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
To put it another way, I've always considered the Soviet Union to be an extremely right-wing regime, since it was a highly authoritarian dictatorship that restricted personal freedoms, even though it claimed to be a left-wing nation.
User avatar #744 to #692 - tkfourtwoone ONLINE (06/12/2012) [-]
Socialism and Communism are Left and Far Left policies, ********
#762 to #744 - anonymous (06/12/2012) [-]
Okay, first of all, I want to establish one thing; "Communist" is an entirely meaningless word. It used to be more or less synonymous with socialism, then it was applied to the Marxist variant of socialism, then it was used by the Soviet Union to describe their own system, and since then it's just become a curse word that we use to describe anything that we don't like.
Socialism, on the other hand, has a simple definition: workers' control of the means of production. However, in the Soviet Union, workers did not control the means of production; the government did. They claimed that the government managed production on behalf of the workers, but really, that idea is just stupid.
So, in summary, socialism=left wing, Communism=nothing because it doesn't mean anything, and the Soviet Union=/=socialism.
User avatar #767 to #762 - tkfourtwoone ONLINE (06/12/2012) [-]
It's not a meaningless word. The North Countries (Finland, Norway, etc) are as close to communism principles as you can get these days.
Communism, just like Christianity, has good principles... in theory. It's the human nature that ***** it up.
#615 to #575 - hugebull (06/12/2012) [-]
I'm proud of being a liberal, do you even know what a liberal is?

You mindless muppits are using liberal the same way that you used the word "Commie" a couple of years back...

There is nothing wrong with being a communist, and there is nothing wrong with being a liberal.
#644 to #615 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
You have made it clear already you're the one who doesn't know what you're talking about, but because I was on the offensive outburst with my comment I'll lose 9/10 times to people reading through the comments. Like I said in a comment above its a matter of perspective. For being a communist/liberal you're an idiot.
#673 to #644 - hugebull (06/12/2012) [-]
You have no idea what communism/liberalism is, do you?...

I actually feel sad for you...
#695 to #673 - fagbagzag (06/12/2012) [-]
I never stated anything to prove I know what a liberal or communist is or isn't. You're insulting me on fabricated information. I still don't know what you're trying to say. I was saying from my perspective one is an idiot for being a liberal/communist. You took it out of context. This isn't the first time you've done this in this argument. Just stop. You've lost.
#724 to #695 - hugebull (06/12/2012) [-]
You're saying im a "Liberal **** "

How can you say that im a "liberal **** " when you have no idea what a liberal is?

And you're continuing to say that im a idiot for being a liberal....

And how can you even have a perspective on the matter when you dont even know what a liberal or a communist is?

And how can they be out of context when they are direct answers to what you have been saying?

And show me the places where i have been out of context...
