Unfortunately I never got into House, so I don't get it.

Does she have Alzheimer's or something?

Yes she does. I was hoping it would be more obvious in the comic (Foreman's mom doesn't make many appearances in the show), so that was a failure on my part.

He goes to see his mom, an she thinks that he's his dad, and talks about how she misses her son.

I had a professor that was going through this, he always chocked up while talking about it in class, " One second we are talking as usual and another second, she is just staring at me, wondering who the **** I am." It's such a surreal experience, and it's becoming a social dilemma now days with higher life expectancy. I wish this to no one.

Ugh, Alzheimer's...my wife's grandmother has it. She was at the wedding and described it as "an unforgettable ceremony." Then a month ago I walked in the room and she asked my wife "who's your friend?"

My grandmother asked me a question the other day. Before I could finish answering it, she asked me again. I don't know if she'd be as far along as your wife's grandmother, but it's pretty sad to see.
