It was the 70s, and **** was real weird.

Very off topic, but my house was built in the late 70s, and we have stupid stuff like an intercom system with a microphone in the kitchen so you can tell every room in the house when dinner's ready. The fuse box also has timers for each outlet so you can set when lights turns on and off. These sound like good ideas, but when something ***** up you end up with lights turning on and off at random, or static noise coming through every speaker in the entire house...

James and Marjorie Landis were married for 65 years and were almost always together. The couple married in 1946 after meeting at a dance.

Marjorie died at age 87 and, just 88 minutes later, James, 89, also passed away, suffering from a heart attack. 87,88,89?

James was at his wife's side when she died.
The last thing he said to her was, "It's OK. I love you. We had many good years together. I will see you real soon."

Their daughter said "I just think he died of a broken heart. I don't think they could have lived apart from each other."

Interestingly people who don't find a partner tend to live for less time.

Willingness to live, happiness and perceived environment all have a big affect on the health of all people. If a person is unhappy, feels old and in an alien world and wants to die; they will likely develop various conditions that quickly lead to their death. Being a burden also weakens your immune system.

The key to living a really long life is to have a good diet, exercise somewhat regularly, be happy, self sufficient for the most part or perhaps even be providing for others, have a loving partner you can trust, a stress free environment and finally but most important if you really want to get old is (105+) you need good genes.

I missed out having a good healthy upbringing but that should be there somewhere and having friends too.

Anyway she died so early because she probably had a sad life.

If you want to live a long life follow these guidelines, I personally have done a fair amount of reading and watching documentaries on the subject of living old, and this contains about everything that can lengthen your life and make those years you do live better.

Of course you'll have to do the 'research' yourself if you want something more specific.

I know it's sad, younger by a year than my own mother is. If I had to guess, she maybe had a poor quality of life after losing her love. Think about how tragic this story is. The best day of her life was ruined. She was going to give her life to living with that man and then she couldn't. Most people her age have grown kids, going to college, being successful, having grandchildren, she never got to have any of that. She was probably very depressed and maybe even killed herself.

That reminds me... I watched this really weird sundance/indie movie once with Matt Smith (Doctor Who). It's called "WOMB". I think he might of made it before his Doctor Who days. Anyway his character dies and his lover/wife whatever she was, she decided to clone him and give birth to the clone. She is the child's mother and ends up raising her husband as her son. It was a VERY weird movie! He gets to teenage years and she tries to see if he's sexually attracted to her. Then when he's an adult and dating a girl, she starts getting upset and jealous.
