I am not a stray

I am not a stray. Tillie has a friendly collar to let you know that she is not a stray. She has been known to even spend the night with people who go camping up

Tillie has a friendly collar to let you know that she is not a stray.
She has been known to even spend the night with people who go camping up on the trails.
Sorry I can't be there for your last days.

inb4 "where is the funny"
**** you.

She has been hiking one of the trails near my college
since I was ten years old (13 years ago).
She is well known for hiking the trails there about 10
times daily, starting with a group and sticking with them
the entire way.
She was one of the first people I met when I got to Heme
4 Years ago) she walked with me and a group of other
new students up mountain.
Recently she went to the vets to get a check up, and
there they found a tumor around her bladder that is to
big to remove.
Even through her pain she is still hiking everyday, the
only difference there is now, is that the hikers are
waiting for her on the way up the mountain, and she is
tired when she get' s home at the end of the day.
Right now hundreds of peopel around the US who have
met her in her 13 year career as hiking companion, are
coming to visit her for one last hike.
Sadly, I will not be able to join her before she passes, as
this Summer was the one I chose to spend in Germany.
I know this isn' t very funny, but I know you guys have
had a soft spot for amazing animals in the past, I just
wanted to share with you my feels as this dog lives
through it' s final days.
I love you Tillie.
You will be sorely
missed,
especially the
next time I go
hiking there.
Sincerely,
Wersand

Based on the connotation of the sentence I shall assume OP meant person(s) not people.
The key difference is as follows:
People refers to a group of human beings

A person is a more controversial term, and is subject of much philosophical debate, However some of the generally accepted criteria for personhood include:
- being sentient
- being capable of learning (on various degrees)
- to be able to communicate on some level
- to be capable of moral reasoning (understanding some things are right, and others wrong)

- This results in a situation where many would argue that, Not all persons are human, and not humans are persons.

In the case of TIllie it is most likely fairly easy to be able to view her as a person.

People over-personify animals, even to the point of pretending they are children trapped in animals' bodies. Pic related. She may be a beautiful and helpful dog, but she is a canine, not a Homo sapien. Respect the species. Love her for what she is, not what you want her to be.

Whether they over-personify animals or not they can still be considered equal to men. I mean a man can shed the same amount of tears for the death of his wife as the death of his dog. In the end we are all the same for we both are born and we both will die.

When they are puppies, they are practically like babies, and my sister raised and discipline the dog using what she knows of little children. Difference is that they stay with the mental capacities as a toddler. Like a little child in a capable dogs body. I would rather have a dog than a baby..

Yeah, sometimes cancerous tumors get so big that a large portion of the cells from the affected area making them obsolete. Only way to get rid of them is to rid the body of the entire organ, which unfortunately the animal needs to stay alive.
Eh, just science ****.

Yes, but you overlooked that English isn't OPs first language since he said he is living in Germany at the moment. I don't expect the pinnacle of grammar from someone who's English is probably his 3rd language.

Most of the time I don't make that mistake, but I was also raised in a family whose grammar was not always correct, it probably helps that your 7 year old brother has probably had a supportive family who helped guide him through school.

I was actually a late bloomer for reading and writing in general and am proud to have gotten myself this far. I do make lots of mistake still in writing and often have to read academic papers several times over before I turn them in. Luckily though I have had other things such as math, science, and computers to work with as they have always been far more enjoyable to me.

I know I replied to the post before this, but I will also reply to this. I will email some of the people in my schools DJ 4DM1Nistration that I know, as well as the student body president. I do believe that my college owns the land that the trail is on, which means that it might have to go through trustees first, I'm sure they won't deny it, but bureaucracy at colleges can be annoying.
