Its just that, everything said in this post relates to me. My dad never loved me, he never wanted me. I grew up alone, and my mom was always my best friend but she recently moved to Australia with her boyfriend and now I'm alone... Again.

I never met my dad. Fact: He left my mom to raise me and my sister. I only know his name and I don't know anything else. I'm pretty happy and thankful actually. It made my mom a stronger person and made me what I am today. Once I have a family in the future, I'll make sure I'll be something my Real and Biological dad never was: A FATHER.

"From what I’ve heard, Will Smith’s father actually left him. This wasn’t entirely scripted. Will went off on his own rant, and the hug at the end was genuine.
His character was just supposed to shrug off his dad leaving again and he starts to but then Will goes off script. That whole speech is coming entirely from him. The hug at the end is also genuine, actor to actor not character to character.
God, I will never stop loving Will Smith." I cried so hard.

This was proven as ******** . His father was very active in his career and they're actually pretty close. Kinda like Tiger Woods and his dad.

This episode hit way too close to home. I remember crying when I first saw it, and it still made me tear up to this day.

Dad died when I was 7 years old. Even when he was alive, I never had the relationship I wanted. Sure, I remember when he would pick me up from school in first grade and take me to the movies a couple times. But I rarely saw him except for birthdays. The thing is, this whole story used to get me every time I thought about it. Now? It makes me very angry to think that he just had to, JUST ******* HAD TO, leave with some drug-crazed, meth whore. And 7 years later, it kills me to realize that he had to miss out to see what I grew up to be. To see my accomplishments. I don't know if I can ever forgive him but I'm still trying to hold back tears.

I do miss him dearly.

Will actually wasn't acting during this scene
#34 - franticorb (11/15/2012) [-]
Will Smith actually improvised this whole scene, his father wasn't there for him growing up. When his dad left, Will was supposed to shrug it off and just keep on going, but Will then went off script on his own. Even the hug at the end was unscripted, genuine, actor to actor.

Actually, that's a myth, and is utter ******** .
#386 to #61 - anon (04/27/2014) [-]
No, it's not a myth. You can look it up yourself. Will Smith says he always looked up to his dad. You are a ******* retard.
#381 to #34 - fractalius (11/26/2012) [-]
You shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet, because that is so far from true. He had a great relationship with his dad, he's just a good actor
