nearly 6 years of service. your xbox fought the good fight and now it is time for it to move on to a better place. A place where there is unlimited memory space, fast internet speed while playing with other xbox just like it..

My xbox was from the first year they came out.
Never got red ring. You know what killed it?
Mother fucking lightning strike.
I was in my room when it happened too. Bout as close to a viking funeral as it could get.
Rest in peace, sweet prince

Had a horrible experience with Xboxes. 3 of them in a span of a year all red ringed, went to playstation, had one for close to 4 years, worked fine. Sold it, switched to pc.
Glorious PC master race

As a ps3 owner I still have sympathy for you.
May your x-box360 live for ever in the eternal hunting grounds.

When I was 5, my best friend fell off his bike and damaged his pancreas. As a get-well-soon gift from some relative or other, he got a 64.
Before I saw it, I didn't even know video games existed; I remember watching him chunk his brand-new Super Smash Bros cartridge into the 64 with no clue of what to expect. I chose Kirby and just constantly mashed A, much to my mate's irritation. Much to my irritation, I lost that match.
Every problem either of us have ever had has been discussed in front of the 64; deaths, school, girls, pets, breakups. The day he told me he was gay, we were battling at Hyrule Castle. The day my dog died of blood cancer, we were negotiating the Water Temple. It's not just a console to us. It's a representation of our childhood and our enduring friendship.

14 years on and we still play 64 every Saturday afternoon, and that motherfucker still runs as sweet as the day he first booted it up. Sometimes I imagine us as old men, playing Smash as we sadly contemplate the world we'll soon be leaving.

I know that's pretty unlikely, but I don't know what I'll do when the old girl finally runs out of steam.

There are a couple things to to before opening it. Unplug the power box from the wall and give it time to discharge, second undo the hard drive, 3rd undo any usb device on it; a usb device that has failed can red ring it. After getting everything off of it, plug the power brick back into the wall and see if it fires up. I have been fixing these stupid things since I was 14, I learned because I had 3 brake within a month.
