Ignore the rest of the advice you've been given. What you wanna do is get yourself the nicest ******* dress you can find. Make sure it's elegant, but makes a statement. You want people to be looking at you. Now, go down to the nearest pet store and inquire about where you could possibly rent an elephant. Not some pansy ass Asian elephant, you want an African elephant. Then you go and find a place where they can teach you to ride elephants (Without any kind of saddle preferably but, whatever works best I suppose). After that, go and find the biggest ******* guys you can manage, I'm talking body builders. Like Stallone on steroids or Schwarznegger on slightly less steroids. Hire their firm asses for a day and make them walk along side you as you swagger into this wedding on a ******* elephant, paying no heed to the dozens of trampled children and screaming parents as you now OWN that room. You're welcome.

First off, are you male or female? If male, wear formal wear (Suit and tie, shined shoes).
If female, wear a dress but make it modest. Most Indian clothing is very colorful and tends to be mostly hues of orange, yellow and red.
As for how to act, be kind, be courteous, and be prepared to eat and dance a lot.
Hope that helps some.
