He does live, this comic was made for ZE FEEELS.

SPOILER ALERT:

The comic was based off of Skyward Sword, but what REALLY happens in the end is Link saves the world by killing Ganondorf and lives on the surface with Zelda; However, before passing away Ganondorf cursed Link, so that there would be a forever chain of Link fighting Ganondorf, with of course Zelda in the mix. As Ganondorf represented "darkness" or evil which can never be killed, but would simply be reborn. Which is why for almost every game we have these three iconic characters as even though they're is always a different scenario and look to each game, they are the same, but reborn and fates forever intertwined.

It wasnt ganondorf, it was demise.
Ganondorf didnt exist until about 30 years prior to ocarina of time, when ganondorf was born in the tribe of the gerdudos. and, being the only male born in 200 years, he was crowned their king.
#103 to #101 - anon (02/08/2013) [-]
True, while Demise was not necessarily Ganondorf at the same time he was. Demise says before dying, "Those like you... Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero... They are eternally bound to this curse.. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time.'

Ganondorf is this incarnation of his hatred.

i wouldnt liked demise as a villian in the other games more then ganon though, because demise is a badass scaly-looking-skinned flaming haired badass with a huge sword

ganon is a giant blue pig
#114 to #106 - anon (02/08/2013) [-]
Do you mean you would've preferred Demise over Ganon? I got kind of confused, but yeah Demise is a a supreme bad ass compared to Ganondorf.
User avatar #116 to #114 - remsaman ONLINE (02/08/2013) [-]
yeah. i guess.
I would have liked demise to have more time to develop his character though.
#117 to #116 - anon (02/08/2013) [-]
Yeah I agree, but I think they just used Demise more for the whole plot and how all the games tie together. Even though he wasn't much of a character besides being "evil" or darkness itself, those keywords he said at the end was the most important part as it ties every single Zelda game together in a way. Beforehand, people would just make assumptions about the games coming together, or considered each one just completely separate from one another. Skyward Sword, brought them all together though and the whole game was just a great ride.(One of my favorite Zelda games yet)

Id have to agree with that. while ocarina of time is my favourite in terms of replay value and nostalgia, skyward swords gameplay was amazing and unforgettable.
Nintendo really peaked themselves in the production, and i couldnt think of a title better for LoZ's 25th anniversary.

Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game of all time for this reason. I just love how brilliantly nightmarish it is, while still maintaining the innocence of a Zelda game.

You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?
User avatar #7 to #4 - joshofsouls (02/08/2013) [-]
You know what scares me about that?
Not the creepypasta, not the statue itself.

But what it's SUPPOSED to be...
I mean, think about this, the Elegy of Emptiness creates a statue of the being that's spirit was turned to a mask.

The Zora's mask is Mikau.
The Goron's mask is Darmani
The Deku mask is the son of the Deku in the swamp.
But what is Link's statue? It creates a statue from a spirit. So what spirit does his statue create, and if it's HIS, then why does it not look like him?

That's what scares me.
#24 to #7 - bluemagebrilly ONLINE (02/08/2013) [-]
I think it might be Link's Termina spirit. Everyone from Hyrule appeared in Termina, excepting Zelda and Ganondorf, so 'Ben' was probably Link's Termina side that died at some point.

To be honest, when I was a kid I never summoned this guy if I could help it. It made me scared too, so don't feel too bad~

Or maybe ... just maybe a really really bored programmer.

...IDK...
User avatar #18 to #7 - CrashingSea (02/08/2013) [-]
It's Link's it just looks weird for some reason, Maybe the people that made the game got lazy and didn't want to make the Link statue as detailed as Link himself as the whole point was to set it and forget it anyway.
User avatar #77 to #18 - joshofsouls (02/08/2013) [-]
No, they would not do that.
They put a lot of effort into telling a story that'll stick in your head, and making you actually feel something for characters in the story.

That statue means something.
User avatar #143 to #77 - CrashingSea (02/09/2013) [-]
And I DID feel something for the characters in the story, but we already know Link's backstory so I wouldn't imagine there'd need to be a lot of detail for a statue that you're supposed, like I said, set and move on.
User avatar #146 to #143 - joshofsouls (02/09/2013) [-]
It's not about HIS backstory, it's about the statue.
The statue does have a story, but no one knows it, like the guy said above it could be Link's Termina counterpart.

Since Termina is in a completely different universe, it's possible that Link's arrival caused something bad to happen, leaving behind the spirit that the statue takes form of.
User avatar #147 to #146 - CrashingSea (02/09/2013) [-]
But whenever you leave a statue it doesn't leave a counterpart, it leaves a statue of the soul that played the song, it leaves Mikau, Darmani, and Deku Sprout, so, logically, it would leave a statue of Link's soul and not his counterpart, why would it leave a different soul instead of Link's when it doesn't do that with any of the other souls?

And you say it COULD be, that doesn't mean it is, that's playing with speculation.
User avatar #148 to #147 - joshofsouls (02/09/2013) [-]
But then that does not explain why the statue looks the way it does.
If you're saying that it's Link's spirit, why would the Hero of Time's spirit look like that.
And then again, how can he leave his spirit behind?

User avatar #149 to #148 - CrashingSea (02/09/2013) [-]
It's magic dude, he's not leaving his spirit behind, just a statue OF his spirit, and it DOES look like him, just not 100% detailed. The only thing that doesn't look like him is a surreal face. There's nothing really odd about it at all.

In my opinion Majora's mask was the best Legend of Zelda game.
Turning into a bunch of different races made it amazing
User avatar #56 to #42 - ZenMacros ONLINE (02/08/2013) [-]
Not to mention it had a storyline that was so unlike anything you'd expect from a Zelda game. It was very subtly dark and sometimes downright creepy. That and NPCs actually had some personality.
User avatar #57 to #56 - kellyweeezel (02/08/2013) [-]
yeah the first few times i played it i completely missed the dead deku tree at the beginning. And then a bunch of people just die and turn into masks. Still a good game though.

I always felt that you were just carrying the empty shell of them around, that they gave you the powers they had in life, and moved on to guide you as a spirit. I never felt like they actually were in the mask, but the deaths and touches of this game were really painful if you look back to them.
