Story goes like this: Daughter dies in a skiing accident. Mom and Dad decide to donate her organs. It was done anonymously. They didn't know the recipient. The mom reads an article about a mother who just received a heart. She's raising children of her own, and would have died without the heart. She reaches out to the woman (via social media), and they immediately develop a friendship. The mother, who is still grieving, makes the comment about wishing she could hear her daughter one more time. That's when the idea comes up for mom and dad to visit. It's not creepy, or weird...it's closure.

No, the reciever has the heart of the daughter. The daughter's heart. Which is beating. So it's the daughter's heart beating which is being heard.

If you watch the video, the girl was 13, and in girls they go through puberty much earlier than boys do. this contributes to growth in all of the bodies organs. On top of this, she played quite a few physically demanding sports so i wouldn't doubt her heart was stronger than someone who didn't stay fit. For your 17yr old friend, hes a different story, because a 12 year old boy most likely hasn't gone through puberty and chances are that heart was just formed too differently to fit your friend, since they arent always the same.

Are you high?
A thirteen year olds' heart is likely nearly fully formed.
A youth's heart is unlikely to have been abused with smoking, overeating, drugs or alcohol (or tragic breakups)
A heart will acclimate very quickly to the demands placed upon it (go to the gym after a few weeks of not going, will it be damaged?)

No, I'm not high
My best friend was 17 when he needed a heart transplant
He had a potential match with a 12 year old boy who was on his last days with cancer
The doctor then informed him that he would not get that heart, as it was under-developed

That doesn't even make sense in this context...
The difference in size between two peoples hearts at any given age is only really different if one is like 4"2 Imperial and the other is like 6"5 Imperial
I would have a similar size heart as someone who is even as much as 30 cm shorter than me as long as we were the same age

I'm pointing out that any difference would have to be relatively large for any real heart size difference to be present, but a difference in age, especially in the years of puberty, would be quite a different story indeed
TL;DR Its almost 100% impossible for a 13 year old girls heart to effectively operate in a grown humans body

if he was suffering from cancer it's likely it affected his heart in a negative manner. Not to mention if he had been fighting cancer since he was, say, 8 he wouldn't have a full 4 years of development.

(13 is over the age of puberty which contributes hormones and growth factors, also you don't know how tall or fat that thirteen year old was to be able to donate. Depending on the type of cancer, it might have affected the heart as well)

Oh, you don't see me arguing with that, I was just pointing out the rationale. I once interviewed a guy who had recieved a heart transplant from a kid about his age who died in a car crash and this guys said he wanted the kid's parents to do this exact same thing, listen to their dead son's heart beating through him.

Initially, my thoughts were "Aw, that's kinda nice." My editors were like "Dude, that's ****** up."

There are two women in the picture.

The one listening through the stethoscope lost her daughter and the daughter's heart was transplanted into the woman on the right who has the stethoscope pressed against her chest.
The mother is using the stethoscope to listen to her daughter's heart beating one final time

Many (not all) Teens are far too emotional and too apathetic to issues that should concern em, Instead all they concern about are their small worlds which consist of meaningless social enviroments in which they feel the urge to constantly prove themselves towards their peers in order to gain status.

We could compare the suicide rate to the homicide rate in teens(if there is one) and then we could make an "educated assumption"
