What about that picture of the old man putting out flyers of his birthday party because nobody would give him presents so 4chan sent him hundreds of presents and letters?
#92 to #6 - anon (07/14/2013) [-]
Because it wasn't real. After a bunch of people sent cards and presents, a relative posted online that they should stop, and that he was a very happy man surrounded by friends and family.
User avatar #234 to #6 - machinimax (07/14/2013) [-]
Man, 4chan is such a weird place.
On one hand nobody normal goes there because everyone's afraid that they do scary **** .
But then 4chan does something like this and you're just left off confused.

Well, it was revealed by his grandson on reddit (his identity was confirmed by the staff) that the poster was sort of a "joke" because he was sending out a notice to the people he knew as he was well loved in the community. Well that's at least what his grandson said.

This upsets me.

There's 2 main reasons why these things are the way they are (ignoring the possibility of a more popular page posted on):
1) Alot of people wouldn't like the one on the left at the risk of looking like a pervert in front of their friends
2) People like the photo on the right to make themselves feel like good people, or to look good in front of their friends. I doubt any of them actually think she's the "most beautiful teenager"

It's a damn shame she has the disease she has, but until FB likes can be exchanged for the cure for cancer, this is not in any way a restoration of faith in humanity.
User avatar #89 to #58 - froggets (07/14/2013) [-]
I agree, also a pretty common thing is that a lot of guys like pictures like this so their female friends on facebook can see that they've liked the picture and kind of develop some sort of interests for this douche, trust me! I know of too many dudes who does this.... makes me wanna punch them in the throat so badly!
for some reason are these dudes also the same dudes that learn to play guitar to score chicks
#86 to #58 - anon (07/14/2013) [-]
Can't we acknowledge they're both good looking?
User avatar #88 to #86 - brettyoke (07/14/2013) [-]
If that's your opinion. I just personally do not find the one of the right attractive. That doesn't mean I dislike her or think she's a bad person, I just don't think lying to her makes humanity better.
User avatar #143 to #58 - commontroll (07/14/2013) [-]
I do think the girl on the right is still really pretty. Certainly more beautiful than the skank, that's for sure.

But yeah, still pointless.
#10 - iFail (07/13/2013) [-]
The one with the hot girl showing the cleavage having less likes than the girl with cancer still bothers me.

On one hand, I think it's a great thing that there's more people admiring the strength that it takes to get through cancer over a pair of jubilees struggling to stay in place in a tight top. But looking at the bigger picture, both of the girls have the same thing in common, that they're posting those pictures for the sole purpose of gaining likes, and whilst showing yourself off for internet attention is pretty pitiful, I'd argue that taking advantage of your terminal illness for sympathy from people is even worse.

That's overlooking the possibility that the picture of the girl with cancer could've been posted by someone who is perfectly fine health-wise and found the image on google in order to gain likes/attention on her post and benefit from someone else's suffering, which is even worse. But then again, that's just a possibility.

So in conclusion, it didn't restore my faith in humanity at all. Loved the Obama one though.

User avatar #79 to #10 - redtooth (07/14/2013) [-]
I find it ridiculously sad that someone would exploit the suffering of another human being for likes. Many groups on Facebook put up pictures of sick, dying children (even babies) and ask for likes, as in "How many likes for this 'x'". Even worse, some even pretend they'll donate money for every like, comment and share. How low can humanity stoop?
#131 to #10 - anon (07/14/2013) [-]
Yea and also I hate how people just assume that the girl with cancer is a better person having cancer does not make you a good person she could be the biggest bitch in the world we don't know and just because the other girl is hot and dressed slutty doesn't mean she is a bad person she could be really nice. The whole point was to judge them on their looks that's why you only get a photo.
#40 to #10 - anon (07/13/2013) [-]

I love it when parents, especially dads, accept that their child is gay and supports them.

I wish my dad would. He says that I might "think" that I'm gay. Lol like it's a choice, amirite?
#94 to #34 - schrodngrscat (07/14/2013) [-]
My dad's just been pretending like I never told him and I'm honestly not sure whether or not that's better than him being mad/upset about it. And I don't mean he's just treating me the same as before like "Oh this doesn't change anything." I mean he never brings anything up that has to do with it and occasionally he's like "So have you met any girls at (my university) that you like?" and stuff like that... and he gets uncomfortable when I then remind him that I'm gay.

I hate it but I don't know I guess it's better than some alternatives, right?

I will never come out to liking both genders to my parents. My brother came out being gay and my mother is showing homophobic tendencies and my father/step father both are def homophobic. It's not a choice, if it were a choice you'd be able to choose to find the same sex attractive, and you can't do it.
It's the same with homosexuals.
#260 to #259 - greensky (07/14/2013) [-]
What if I find children attractive? Just because it's against the law and moral standards, should I deny my natural choice? After all, it's not a choice if I find young people sexually attractive.
User avatar #262 to #260 - Loppytaffy (07/14/2013) [-]
No, it's not a choice. No more than sexuality is. However, two males or two females of age are both consenting, and both know what they want.
A child does not. And it is a manipulation of power to act upon these urges.

When I was 15, I was pretty sure I had a crush on this girl I went to school with, and I was texting, heh, my ex-boyfriend about it and my mom ended up reading the text with it saying, "No matter what happens, she'll always love you." and she questioned me about it. I ended up telling her, and it really is heart-warming to know that if I ended up becoming a lesbian, she would still love me the same.
User avatar #53 to #47 - Loppytaffy (07/13/2013) [-]
My mum sort of always knew.
And given that she has five daughters, I think she'd be dissapointed if we all turned out straight, anyway.

Lesbians can have boyfriends in the past to try and hide their true sexuality.
And lesbians can like yaoi as much as straight men can- i know of three men who like yaoi and are straight as dice.
User avatar #265 to #256 - yuriyuriyuruyuri (07/14/2013) [-]
and straight men watch BL, which isnt yaoi. If they are getting turned on by yaoi (more sexual) they probably have bisexual tendencies to some extent.
User avatar #264 to #256 - yuriyuriyuruyuri (07/14/2013) [-]
Yes but they have a feeling they are. They dont a say they always want a man then just a few months later switch and say they dont at all.

"Hide true identity" WHY on the internet? You would have no reason to. Thats ******** . Theres never been any inkling in your comments about liking women apart from here, its all been about "boyfriends" "yaoi" and "ooh god men from hetalia <333 mmmm" really sounds like someone who doesnt like men or [penis sexually.

How can you like 2 men together then say you dont like penis at all? AND I've seen you talk about getting turned on by two men. If you were lesbian men wouldnt turn you on sexually at all. You're most likely BISEXUAL.
User avatar #266 to #264 - Loppytaffy (07/15/2013) [-]
Liking yaoi and being turned on by it are two different things. And actually, the guys I know specifically like yaoi- one writes it, the other reads explicit fics, and the last reads doujinshi on top of the fics. The second likes yaoi because you don't get these little fluffy cute shojo "i hope sempai notices me" relationships in yaoi, it's like "I'm going to find Sasuke, then we're gonna fight, then we're going to **** ". And no fluffy pillow talk after.

I like the appearance of men together; the way their bodies fit together, it's an occupational hazard of being an artist to find beauty in such things.

What I don't like about the way women (heterosexual or lesbian) are portrayed in anime and manga, is that's it's wrong. Any given hentai is like "omg my nipples feel so good and omg it's so deep inside it feels so good" and that's so wrong. It's unrealistic and a huge turn off.
#274 to #266 - anon (07/15/2013) [-]
You're not a lesbian. Stop thumb whoring. I know for a fact in a while you'll go back to saying you have a boyfriend and will be "SWIMMING IN YOUR PANTIES" (your words) from hentai pictures. Learn what sexuality is before you make a lie.
You dont have a boyfriend and zero idea you're a lesbian and switch in an instant when the comment will get you thumbs,
User avatar #275 to #274 - Loppytaffy (07/15/2013) [-]
So I say stuff for the thumbs, and so I've had guys in the past, and I like to make jokes on the internet, so what? You think I'm genuine when I say things that imply I'm male, too?

I have been with men, and my experience says it hurts and it doesn't make me feel good. It's something I never want to experience again.
User avatar #38 to #34 - GnRNoD (07/13/2013) [-]
To make that "think" thing stop, tell him :
"Dad I can describe you in detail why my body reacts to seeing an attractive man, and why I enjoy sexual interaction with other men"
He'll never bother you with that again.
User avatar #50 to #38 - Loppytaffy (07/13/2013) [-]
Or applies to women, too, y'know?

I mean, I can apreciate the beauty of a man, but the whole penis thing doesn't do it for me.

#65 to #34 - anon (07/13/2013) [-]
Oh, man all my feels to you bro (or sis, whatever man).

My sister is gay too. When she came out my mom threw a fit about how being gay was wrong, and that **** about; "gay is ruining the sanctity of marriage" and "gay people can't raise kids properly, it'll ruin the kids lives".

I had to remind her that she has 5 failed marriages behind her, one which lasted only a month.
She have been with men, that abused my sister and I during childhood, which she gave little to no **** about at all. And her first son, before my sister and I, died because my mom was drunk and didn't notice he fell down a set of stairs.

Man, I'm not one to judge what is right and wrong. But you can remind your dad, that every time you point a finger at another person, five fingers are pointed back at yourself.
User avatar #189 to #65 - Loppytaffy (07/14/2013) [-]
There has never been a child in raised by a gay couple who didn't want that child more than anything in the world; they have to fight for it, there's no accidental "oops last night the condom broke".

And obviously, gay couples raise gay kids cos straight couples only raise straight kids...
