Why does everyone crie evertim about Kurt Cobain but refer to every other suicide as a waste of life and talent and make fun of it?

I'm strapping myself in for this one.

I've been watching Daria recently, and it's a really good show, and it also gives the best explanation for this. When someone famous dies, people aren't sad because that person died. But they are sad because they are reminded of death and that they will die one day too, and as such they mourn famous people for their death, regardless of why, who, and under some circumstances (not all) how.

Man that was depressing. Here look at this funny picture

Here, let me educate you.

Kurt, in the eyes of many, especially funnyjunkers in this case, were fond of Kurt and his achievements. His loss was a big one. He made good music and is now gone.

On the other hand people like Amanda Todd are just wasteless little ***** , never having contributed to anything at all. Her death is just not that tragic to many.

Would you cry if your mother died or some guy you do not know?

My dad committed suicide when I was eleven, but hey, he's just some "wasteless little **** " that didn't contribute anything to society!

You loved your father, that is what counts. He is not a wasteless little **** in your eyes, is he?

My point was that people loved Amanda Todd as well. She was someone's daughter.

Amanda Todd was in 7th grade and made a mistake that ruined her entire life, so she was bullied to death. Calling her a wasteless little **** is a little far.

in other words, if we don't like you, it's funny when you die.

Suicide is never the option.

Kurt's excuse (or really most of his fans excuse for him) is he was in constant agony.
He chose to do the drugs that put him in agony.

His own fault. Such a waste. Really liked his music.

Why does everyone find 9/11 and the boston marathon funny and easy to joke about, but cry over Steve Irwin and call him off limits?

Because it's funnyjunk.

Did the World Trade Center ever fight a crocodile? I think not.

And lost.

Planes have never killed anybody. Ever. Do you know how many people are sleeping peacefully in their beds, and crocodiles kill them? A lot. They are the real problems.

That is a valid point there sir.
