When the girl grows up she sees that her smart friend isn't doing well in life and working at a minimum wage job. The girl working at a minimum wage job is on the bus and notices a man that won't offer his seat to an elderly. We learn that the man was actually too scared to talk to the elderly woman. The man gets off the bus and we learn that he is gay. His boyfriend remembers himself from a younger age and his father telling him to stay away from Pakistanian people. We go back further into the past where the father's crush is a Pakistan girl. They are separated. The Pakistan girl and her mother are walking down the sidewalk on a dark night when the mother notices a suspicious looking man. Fearing him she walks across the road to the other side. The man turns out to be an upset man crying over the loss of his lover. He doesn't want his father to see him crying, but his mother informs him that his father is at the pub. His father is drunk and decides to get into a fight. He gets beaten and we are traveled back into time when he was younger. He's going shopping when he notices the punk. It's showing that everyone is interconnected, everyone has their own problems, and everyone has something about them that you don't know, so it's not good to judge them by a single action or part of their personality.

At least that's what i take away
