I was expecting a troll comment at the end, but the actual end hit me like an emotional cement brick.

Normally these kind of things usually have an overly dramatic or whiny tone to them, but this one was just straight-forward sadness.

I know that girl's feel. Due to my encopresis when I was younger, people would rarely look me in the eye without laughing/mocking me or holding their nose.
User avatar #61 to #60 - iskandersa (04/26/2013) [-]
give some back story to your saddened heart?
User avatar #65 to #61 - simplescience (04/26/2013) [-]
When I was around 6 years old, I was diagnosed with encopresis (not sure on the spelling), which, and I won't sugarcoat here, made me unable to tell when I had to go to the bathroom. Because of this, I would often mess myself in one way or another.

Of course, being only in elementary/middle school, telling the truth did nothing, and my classmates believed that I did this on purpose, believing that I was too retarded to use the bathroom, and would often remark on how bad I smelled or how stupid I was, often laughing or obnoxiously holding their noses if I tried to look at them, while looking away deliberately as well.

This reputation lasted until 8th grade until I transferred to a new school, but my self-esteem and confidence was so shattered, I didn't want to look at peoples faces unless I had to, not wanting to risk being laughed at some more.

A bit of an epilogue for you: When I went to a new school in 10th grade, I ended up becoming popular enough and respected enough to win Homecoming Prince my junior year and Homecoming King my senior year (the twist is that I'm white and this was a 96% black school).

Well you see what happens when you work through **** , and deal with peoples bs. You come out on top, the alpha male. Just look at you and your beautifulness
User avatar #74 to #71 - simplescience (04/26/2013) [-]
Thank you for the compliment. It's far more than I would give myself.

An interesting side note is when I told my friends in high school about this, they wouldn't get like raging mad, but they'd just scoff and be like "What the **** ? That's just immature ******** (referring to the bullies)".
User avatar #69 to #65 - iskandersa (04/26/2013) [-]
i am truely sorry for your condition, but you did come out of high school on top, and that is something good you can look back upon and be happy about, god speed you beautiful person you
User avatar #72 to #69 - simplescience (04/26/2013) [-]
I thank you for the compliment. It's far more than I would give any to myself.

(Here's a little something extra because you really cheered me up)

One of the more inspiring moments of my life actually came in 11th grade in high school. I was the victim of a prank during a field trip (which I found out soon after was because I was seen as "the most gullible and naive"), where two guys pelted me with water balloons after asking for my help with something. In my attempt to escape after falling over, my head hit a water fountain, which the guys laughed at.

Everyone else was elsewhere, so I sat outside, and (yeah I'll admit it) I was crying. A group of guys who knew me were coming back from the store, and they saw me there. Normally, I got verbal support at most when I was pranked earlier in life. I told these guys about it (and they weren't small either. One was an athlete, this other guy was like a gentle giant you didn't want to piss off), and they were furious, and went and stuck up for me. It was the first time I can remember having friends stick up for me.

Well, it's good that you have people stand up for you. Those guys that helped you out, that was really nice of them. Considering now a days people are such selfish assholes.
User avatar #79 to #78 - simplescience (04/26/2013) [-]
My friends would often ask why I was so trusting and forgiving, even after all the bullying.

I just tell them that I treat others as I would have them treat me. I've lived my life this way, and I wasn't going to let some pricks in middle school change that for me.
User avatar #81 to #79 - pandacore (04/26/2013) [-]
(Just to vent i guess since we all are.) Yea when i was in about 5th grade i rode the bus home from school everyday and there was this one "mexican" kid.
He thought he was the **** and so one day. I was sitting alone on the bus he goes, "Dude why do you always sit alone?"
And i could tell he was trying to **** with me so i said nothing "What are you depressed." And all the kids started laughing, so i just mumbled
"No, but my dad is.." to get him to **** off, yea that backfired "Hah i would be to if i had a daughter like you." I still go on this bus and ill admit that day i just cried pretty much.

Damn, my bullying was never that bad. I did get pestered quite often, but not that bad.

The most humiliated I ever was during my bullying was when I was told that I had to take a test in another room due to how bad I smelled, with the "advisor" (some woman tasked to work with me) constantly making subtle hints she agreed with my classmates. She would often say I was not allowed to go out to recess and instead had to spend that time in this "study" room and drink an entire bottle of cold water to help my insides work better.

Anyway, at the end of that test (and there was only me in the room), this advisor came in and collected my test, and I apparently had had another accident. She forced me out of my seat and practically forced my face onto the seat I had me and made me smell it.

Damn did she get like removed from the school system, because if a teacher makes a simple joke about a child. Like one of the substitutes made a subtle joke about a girl's skin color. And she was forced immediately to go home pretty much.
User avatar #88 to #87 - simplescience (04/26/2013) [-]
She wasn't removed to my knowledge, because I went to a new school the following year, and this happened near the end of the year.

She was the kind of person who is very out-of-touch with children. Like there's a teacher being normally out of touch with a kids life, but this woman was not only out of touch, but basically ignored anyone who said her methods weren't perfect.

User avatar #80 to #72 - iskandersa (04/26/2013) [-]
damn, you seem like you have had a rough life but that just proves that you can always trust your friends in a ****** situation, when i was in middle/high school i was the short fat kid, i mean i was strong for my age, but still short and fat and i had the same friend throughout for about 3 years and in those three years i sprouted up like a weed from 5'6'' to 6'2'' and i was always bullied when i was short but then i became "intimidating" to the people who used to bully me, and in all actuallity i am just a big teddy bear if you know me, it just felt good to not get **** every day anymore, i guess the moral here is, if you tough it out, it gets better
User avatar #82 to #80 - simplescience (04/26/2013) [-]
I was actually never seriously physically bullied. I'm guessing the reason for that is that I could handle names, but I was far from hesitant about aiming to hurt if someone started picking on me, and I was fairly strong for my age.

On the flip side to that though, I only struck back in self-defense, never for vengeance, and was always ready to accept an apology or a truce. I'm unable to hold grudges for more than a few months at most. I guess it made those that pestered me think it either wasn't worth it or that I wasn't actually that bad.
