Get over yourself, this was a really good movie. I enjoyed it the whole way through.

There were no subliminal messages. You're just frustrated that the Bible wasn't depicted as the horrible bane of humanity so that you can feel good about yourself.

What's ironic is that you're conveying a subliminal message by posting this. Scratch that, it's not subliminal. It's quite obvious you despise the Bible and anything that doesn't give it endless ****.

I remember seeing trailers for that movie and it didn't seem like the trailers were emphasizing religious content much. If the movie itself was heavily preaching the bible, I can see how someone could go into the theater not expecting that.

actually, the theme was how religion is just a beacon of hope for dark times, and that's why people cling to it. I'm agnostic, and I loved it. pic unrelated but awesome.

He isn't blind. He looks, and you can tell he sees stuff. I've gotten in hour long debates with my dad and brother trying to prove that he isn't blind.

You've been in hour long debates? Your pretty strong willed, but still... You're wrong, The fact that his irises in the ending scenes have that sort of glow to them is because they don't recieve light, in other words he doesn't SEE, also the reason he looks at things is because of the sound direction and magnitude, blind people do it all the time to help them find whatever they hear, Watch the movie once more, it's almost retarded to think he isn't blind

inb4 red thumbs, but "The Book of Eli" was a ******* awesome movie. One of the people I hate the most is named Eli, but I was able to get over that speedbump.

I liked the Book of Eli as well. He kinda of reminded me of Pulp Fiction by quoting the bible before kills.

I didn't. It only really preached once. The rest of it was basically him protecting a source of power.

As an atheist, I thought the Book of Eli was a great movie. It wasn't preaching religion so much as demonstrating the power it can have over people, to either negative or positive effect. Top that off with some awesome action sequences and you've got yourself a winner.
