Inb4 rev up those punch lines
In the 80s there was Cold War drama.
We fought the Commies inside Nicaragua.
Our friends were the Contras. Freedom was their mantra.
So we sent them lots of money for guns and landmines.
But Congress stopped the Contra money flow
Just 'cause they moved a teeny bit of blow.
But then a hero came forth.
His name was Oliver North.
He and Reagan went around the sissy Congress.
OLLIE NORTH! OLLIE NORTH!
You see, North secretly sold missiles to a harmless country called Iran who would always be a grateful ally. Then he gave the profits to the Contras. Genius!
Stan: But the sales were uncovered by the press.
Contras: Awwww.
Press: He he.
Reagan and North began to stress.
Reagan: Well...
North: Nyaay!
Stan: 'Cause what they did was technically high treason! (But it was totally justified.)
North volunteered to take the blame,
to save Reagan from prison rape shame.
The truth he did bury with his hot secretary.
Thanks to her shredder, he got off totally scot-free!
OLLIE NORTH! OLLIE NORTH!
He's a soldier!
And a hero!
And a novelist!
And now he's on Fox News!

New York's kind of a watery hole in the Fallout universe. Biggest population density, biggest dump of nukes on the planet. It would have been really cool though.

I'd personally like to see somewhere smaller, maybe New Orleans, or Seattle.

Goddammit guys, stahp.
Fallout 3 will not work in another country. The main story-line is about the Vaults as a social experiment controlled by the US government.
The most we'll ever get is a spin-off; and that's already very unlikely.
Complete Fallout 2, it's all in there.

Again, we have no confirmation that any countries other than the US survived The Great War. (possibly also China)
We'll get a spin-off at most since the games are mainly about The Great War, the Vaults, and the truth behind all of this.
Before that spin-off could be made we would need some information about it given in advance by another game/ *************** .
I know many of you want a Fallout game outside of the US, but as of now, the chances of it happening are close to null.

Because taking EA out of the equation, Bioware knows how to make something feel epic and cinematic, they know their cinematography and choreography. Combine that with bethesda's skill for environmental feeling and atmosphere, and both of them working on the storyline togheter could make for one damn awesome epic game.

Eeeeyup. The last thing I've done so far is the Tranquility Lane one. So even the simulations work.
Word of advice though; It IS still buggy like I said, so be sure to have several saves you update frequently. As an example, I don't think anyone else had that problem, but I couldn't get out of the Anchorage simulation. Only I had that problem though, and fixed it by going to a save before the simulation and finishing everything with the console :V
User avatar #66 to #65 - whiplasher (05/09/2013) [-]
This is amazing mate. I'll be sure to save often.

But when does it start? Like, do you get to do the first quests in fo3 (in the vault) or it starts off in NV?
User avatar #67 to #66 - garaichu (05/09/2013) [-]
You start off in the Vault and can get to New Vegas via a new station close to Dukov's Place. It costs 500 caps each way, but that won't be a problem after a while. The first time you go to New Vegas it says 9 years goes past, and you get shot in the head by Benny. Cue New Vegas storyline. So yeah. They'll most likely let you choose in a later update, but not yet.

Obviously, you should use a couple mods with this mod to make it even more fun, specifically those for New Vegas should work just fine. Their website has a list over mods that doesn't work, otherwise you should just experiment.
User avatar #68 to #67 - whiplasher (05/09/2013) [-]

So anyway that's why I don't really play computer games anymore. And I started on FO3 after new vegas and skyrim, When i'm done with it I'll get Oblivion.

Obsidian was actually rather lazy on New Vegas. Too much of an empty world, with the expectation that modders should fill it, with no real innovation or change to the game from Fallout 3. Their DLC's were okay, but not nearly good enough to put it above fallout games made by Bethesda.

I don't think that is entirely true. I have played all of them and enjoyed all of them. I do have to say that New Vegas and 3 were practically the same, but I feel that is a combination of developer laziness and it essentially being an extension of 3. And yes, some of those quests did get pretty boring but it was fun overall to me, decent storyline and average enemy difficulty as is with many games like these. But is it really that important to play for ridiculously challenging difficulty? I just like a game that I can get into a story and don't particularly care about the difficulty of it, like the new Bioshock. And the same with Skyrim, glitchy and not the best finish work but still plenty of quests with multiple story lines to follow with various depths of involvement, even without the DLC. It seems your doing the same, but opposite, of what your complaining about, just because a particular company made it, doesn't mean they made a **** game.

Never have I met a person who so desperately craved level scaling like you are now. Fallout never struck me as the kind of game where level scaling was too needed, since through the menu you could up the difficulty at any time.

As for the side content not mattering, that was for people who only do main quests. If doing quest A before quest B gave quest C a different outcome, but no one knew of this, then a few people would be peeved. Especially if the outcome did something like save a character you like from their demise. The side quests are to give the game more longevity, and a lot of the time focus on a smaller story arc.

I will not argue against design flaws in this logic. Skyrim was overloaded with **** side quests that did nothing, and really wasted my time. Fallout had these as well. A lot of the side quests though gave me a deeper understanding of the world, and could have been linked to the main storyline. I felt it did give the world a more open nature, knowing that my actions in one spot did not set precedent over another.

User avatar #81 to #21 - chiktikkavaspaus (05/09/2013) [-]
Every installment was dumbed down more and more to a third person shooter with a few RPG leveling elements. I liked the first game, but the only thing that kept me playing the other 2 was the story, and they even messed that up.

If you go back and look at the story, you could even see that it wasn't that well written. They screwed over an entire universe because they wrote themselves into a hole.

Bioware supposedly had a good ending, but they changed it because the story was leaked. They thought just because of the leak they needed to change it so it wasn't spoiled for the fans, when the people who actually cared never looked up the spoilers. The combination of EA's time constraints and Bioware's bad decision is what killed the game.

I like replay value, and Mass Effect had some of the best replay value with the importing of characters. But why would I replay something that won't change no matter how I play the game? Wasn't that one of the game's selling points, to create your own adventure with different outcomes? That's why I was playing. the story just ended up being convoluted with an EA style skin and forced multiplayer that ***** with the single player.
User avatar #97 to #81 - joshuaww (05/09/2013) [-]
The multiplayer was given a lot of depth over time with new characters, abilities, enemies, guns, maps, and constant patches.

If anything, it's probably one giant beta for a really well designed MP mode in the future. One that carries all the awesome stuff they added (for free, I should add), and will probably include more types of missions other than horde mode.

The MP is pretty damn awesome now with all the variability. Yes, it is just horde mode in the end, but it's the best horde mode out there, aside from maybe MvM.
User avatar #18 to #14 - dragontamers (05/09/2013) [-]
Actually it's EA's fault for forcing them to get it out the door
User avatar #82 to #18 - chiktikkavaspaus (05/09/2013) [-]
I think it's the combination of both. Bioware changed the ending after the game was leaked, so the combination of the change and EA's time constraints screwed it over.

Another reason I dislike Bioware now is that they stood by their game. They're just as bad as the Wachowskis when it comes to the 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies.
#41 to #18 - anon (05/09/2013) [-]
yes yes of course. Obviously they can't be blamed for that.. top notch writing amongst other things, clearly it's solely the publishers fault.
