Its about sending a message.
#21 to #2 - covered (03/28/2013) [-]
No it isn't.
#22 to #21 - hitro (03/28/2013) [-]
Care to explain?
User avatar #23 to #22 - covered (03/28/2013) [-]
Saying it's about sending a message is like saying it's sending a message to the supreme court to legalize nudity by having as many people as i can change their profile picture to a hanging dick and vagina, it makes no sense.
#24 to #23 - hitro (03/28/2013) [-]
Its about sending the message that you support gay marriage. Social activities do have a deciding on the earth and even the smallest "protest" or change can lead to massive changes.
User avatar #25 to #24 - covered (03/28/2013) [-]
I think all you need to send a message to say you support gay marriage is to say, out of your own MOUTH, "I fully support gay marriage"
#26 to #25 - hitro (03/28/2013) [-]
I do, do that when I am in this weird thing called the real life and am talking about gay people.

however it is still true that social meetings hold power, regardless of how silly it seems doing something simple as changing your profile picture does something as long as there are a lot of people doing it, which there are.
User avatar #27 to #26 - covered (03/28/2013) [-]
Is your profile picture an equal sign?
#28 to #27 - hitro (03/28/2013) [-]
Currently Yes, yes it is.

Please read the previous chat which I had with Garrtron before making an argument, this is to refrain from repeating the argument.

No need to reread. But what I'm gonna do is put a weed leaf on my fb profile picture and make a status saying "Errbody smoke weed everydai and change your profile pic to a weed leaf in order to legalize it! Yeah, inhale the good **** , exhale the bad **** !" and put the picture up with that status, let's see how far that gets me.
#31 to #29 - hitro (03/28/2013) [-]
i said it needed many people, one person's idea's will often not get very far but a group of peoples idea often does get somewhere.
#4 to #2 - garrtron (03/27/2013) [-]
No, it's about feeling good about yourself and getting likes from friends with similar views.
#6 to #4 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
If you want to feel good about yourself there are many better ways to do it.

i made it my picture not because I want to feel better by using it, it makes me sick that its even an issue, im not getting likes by my friends and could care less even if I was. I did it to show my stance on it, because if enough people show their stance on something other people will begin to notice and it can make a change.

#9 to #6 - anon (03/27/2013) [-]
i personally do not like gaysm i just dont like it, i tolerate them and everything and i dont care what they do. But no facebook image or political stance from others will change my opinion
#10 to #9 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
Voting down my remark is quite a poor use of the down vote button, fyi.

It doesnt have to change your opinion, thats the beauty of opinions.
#12 to #10 - garrtron (03/27/2013) [-]
What other use is there for the vote button?
#7 to #6 - garrtron (03/27/2013) [-]
My ass, you saw some people change there picture so you wanted to be a part of the group.
#8 to #7 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
I saw one person change it to their profile picture. Out of my entire friends list one other person has it, whom I hardly know may I say ( soccer team a few years ago)

I asked what it was about, found out and changed it to that, I had already changed mine to a support gay marriage picture before I found out what it meant, but i changed it to the equal sign after seeing that it was a symbol or a representation of gay marriage.

You do not need to believe me, that is okay, however the fact remains, one person who i barely know changed their profile pic to it, I asked what it was about and joined in because I am heavily in support of gay marriage.

Believe me or not, however i would wish that you saw some good in humanity.

#13 to #8 - garrtron (03/27/2013) [-]
If you're looking to do good or are looking for it on this Earth, go ******* do something other than post pictures about the trendy new cause on facebook.

You are not a good person for changing a picture; the world will not be changed through your half interested actions on the internet. Get over yourself.
#14 to #13 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
Did I state that I was a good person for changing my picture? I dont believe so. All i did or all i am trying to do is send a message of what I feel and believe is right, is that so wrong? Why does doing it through facebook cause something horrible. It is a social mean where people meet and learn and express themselves. Social areas matter and can change things, if you don't think they can't read some history read some books, people sharing their ideas and expressing them changes things.

Even the smallest change or push can have huge affects with enough people, do not think so small of everyone else.

I am very interested in gay marriage, there is nothing to get over I am who I am, I am not trying to build my self by posting the picture Stop trying to pretend that all humans are some negative scum that only look after themselves.

#15 to #14 - garrtron (03/27/2013) [-]
So interested that you didn't know that oral arguments before the SCOTUS had begun until you saw a facebook post.
#16 to #15 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
I am interested in gay marriage and that they receive equal benefits as straight people, sew me if I can do other things with my life.

The fact that this was all you got out of my post practically shows that you have nothing left to point at me, no fingers of damnation maybe because you can not justify them, I do not know.

please respond or continue the part of the rest instead of my small comment of what I am interested in.

way to cherry pick
#17 to #16 - garrtron (03/27/2013) [-]
The fact that you use overwrought language like "fingers of damnation" and get mad when I point out how you're on some bandwagon tells me you're a standard internet pseudo-intellectual. Quick, go find your next cause that you suddenly care about.
#18 to #17 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
Sigh, and i thought that maybe we could actually have a conversation.

I am not mad at all, i am quite at peace right now, listening to some music that I like and talking about government and its boundaries on facebook. I like to argue, however we are not arguing here you are stating that I am some person who gets a high out of pretending I am a good person and yadadada.

When you do not not know who I am or what I have done. You quickly placed me into a group without learning who I am, now we all do this but your's is heavily so.

You can say that I am just a band wagon and that I got mad, but in truth i "got mad" becuase you were not saying anything to the rest of what I wrote and only looking at a single line in an attempt to "make fun of me" or something along those lines.

I would like you to look at the rest of what I posted that you tossed aside for some reason.

Thank you.
#19 to #18 - hitro (03/27/2013) [-]
Why did you stop replying? I enjoy'd your company, even if you found me annoying. You should never leave a conversation half way, it is just awkward.

I highly doubt either of us are doing something important.
#32 to #19 - garrtron (03/28/2013) [-]
Uh oh, we got the "the other person stopped replying to me so I won" internet guy. On top of that you use the "I'm not mad, I'm just trying to have a discussion" card. Look kid, I'm sure you're your weak ass arguments and attempts at writing above your IQ earned that solid B in high school English. But face it, you want to be patted on the back and called an intellectual for doing essentially nothing.
