I. Discovering that you don' t have to play a LG character.
With most television shows, video games, and fantasy novels featuring LG protagonists, it often a bit of an epiphany for a person when they realize that they have a degree of freedom with their
morality, even if they discover immediately during the first time they open up the handbook. This epiphany is especially strong for younger players, since media almost uniformly
features LG protagonists, and it' s a bit of a leap of brain processes when they realize that even though the wants them to save the town, they can burn it down instead.
For some people, realizing they can play an evil character or even just that they can commit evil acts leads them towards exploring these options, and some people even end up preferring them. Tabletop roleplaying games allow a degree
of freedom that other games don' t provide, and being able to be truly dastardly (rather than just picking the "evil" option in a WRPG dialogue selection, they can systematically ruin someone' s life, for example.) is appealing to many
people.
2. Discovering that LG is the worst alignment.
Most people find that anyone who plays a lawful good character inevitably ends up getting ****** somehow. They are in bed with two women, Law and Good, and they' re both of the jealous type. Trying to
please one will eventually offend the other, and choices will have to be made with painful consequences.
While a GENE characterful do anything they wish, just like a / TN can (but is less inclined to do evil things), being good places restrictions on your actions, and being lawful places even more restrictions. Worst of all, being
good AND lawful combined means that every action you make has to be measured and calculated.
Playing Lawful Good is like playing with a collar around your neck with two leashes in two different people' s hands.

l Discovering that Lawful Good is the best alignment.
This is not everyone makes. Youjust in roleplaying games either. Countless people live and die without realizing this simplest untruths-
Lawful Good is not adhering to Law, nor is it adhering to Good. It is following Lawful Good, a perfect construct that combines the compassion, righteousness, and devotion of Good with the mercy, justice, and
discipline of Law.
If an evil judge uses the Law for evil purposes, a Lawful Good person is not obligated to respect that judge' s decisions. In fact, he' s obligated to remove the judge from his position. He only follows the law when the law is good and
just He only need follow Lawful Good. It' s like being in bed with eitherway perfect woman, or two incredibly hot women who are bisexual and love each otherness as much as they love you.
If a group of bandits who slew countless villagers demand mercy when the tides of battle turn, a Lawful Good person need not spare their lives. He is not merely Good, he is Lawful Good, and the deceased deserve -
Or, he can spare those bandits, depending on his personal beliefs of Lawful Good. He has choices to make in order's define what and who he is, and each ofthose choices reveal more he is than a simple question of "Are
you good or are you evil?"
The choices a Lawful Good person makes are the choices you want to make, or at least should want to make. Even if your punishes you for every lawful good act you perform, it' s better to fight for righteous causes than to
succumb to the easier, wanton paths.

People also seem to think that "Chaotic" means "LOL, I'm so random, I can do whatever I want!"

No. The chaotic alignment means you refuse to be bound by any set of morality or ethics. Once a chaotic character has a goal, there is no action that is off-limits in order to achieve that goal.

Murdering a passerby for their money isn't chaotic. It's evil. Learn the difference.

The "good" and "evil" part of your alignment designates what you want to get done. The "chaotic" and "lawful" part of your alignment designates how you get it done.
