-Reptiles laid eggs
-Birds evolved from reptiles
-Therefore egg came before chicken.

it goes long back when organisms were reproducing by budding
laying eggs was a better way of reproduction because of

Where the first fishes started laying eggs to reproduce
after the fishes walked land and evolved to dinosaurs. the eggs also evolved shells if it was too soft it gets destroyed

I always thought that chickens were evolved forms of some sort of prehistoric bird.

Prehistoric birds tended to be reptilic in nature. Pretty awesome. There were no birds before reptiles.

They're classified as birds (pterodactyl) so. . .

Im saying that pterodactyl also evolved from reptiles/dinosaur. They're the main link between reptilic land creatures and our feathered friends, yaknow.

-Dinosaurs laid eggs
-Reptiles evolved from dinosaurs
-Egg came before reptile

InB4 "Hurr Durr Dinosaur or Eggs?"
-Dinosaurs evolved from primitive fish-like stuff, which laid eggs
-Egg before dinosaur.

InB4 "DUUUURH Fishthing or egg?"

-Fish thing evolved from primitive amoeba.
-Fish things were classified as non amoebic lifeforms
-Ever seen an amoeba lay an egg? No.
-Fish thing before egg.

I'm done.

These amoeba things later evolved to something like flatworms which had eyes,
Later it evolved into fishes, which layed eggs.
