I'm ashamed to admit I actually already shed a few tears when I read that he was leaving the show.

This was my caption when I saw that pic on a site a week ago.
It is the perfect picture.

Haha! That's a good one. I found the picture on Twitter, and I just had to caption it.

I don't get the people that seriously feel bad when a regeneration happens. My favourite doctor was the 4th and I watched his whole 7 years run but I didn't shed a tear when 4 turned into 5; it's still the Doctor.

the doctor is the doctor but the scriptwriting and directing were changed to suit american audiences over the last few series which is what annoys me.

I don't know if it was to suit American audiences but it certainly changed to suit people who weren't already watching. It became much more... casual and disembodied in its writing, and yeah, the writing has certainly declined in quality since Moffat took over.

i think the issue is just enough time to begin liking the new docter but not enough time to enjoy him

I'm aware the character is the same, but the personality changes. No matter what, he still feels like a different person. I'm not one of the Tumblr fans who will bitch and moan relentlessly about it, but I really did grow to love Matt Smith's portrayal. I'll get over it, but it doesn't mean I can't be sad when the sad thing happens.

The fact that Matt Smith was able to come in after the awesome performance of David Tennant and keep the show as interesting (if arguable not more so) is a credit to his portrayal of the Doctor. Personally, I thought no one was going to top Tennant and I was a little nervous at first, but I think Smith did absolutely top.

My First thought was: "why is Steven Moffat on the phone while Bono is on the floor"

There has been three doctors since it came back in 2005, Matt Smith being the third who is the one laying down in the picture.

It doesn't look like Matt Smith with that short ass hair o.o

I seriously thought it was the 9th Doctor because of the short hair and the sunglasses were obstructing my view.

It's a pretty ingenious way to keep costs down. I've heard a number of good shows were canceled because the cast was so vital to the show that they demanded higher and higher wages as the show went on.

Since in Doctor Who they can just switch out the characters whenever they want, they don't have to worry about that.

That has nothing to do with why the Doctor has regeneration "powers", the first Doctor, William Hartnell was dying and the show was actually popular, so someone grabbed regeneration powers out of their ass and the rest is history.
#24 to #10 - John Cena (07/28/2013) [-]
And?
That doesn't change the fact that it keeps costs down.
