everyone in this thread is wrong, its the 9th doctor, the one who started the new series, he took over the other actor who didnt want to be involved anymore after the first season as the 9th doctor.

no your wrong, he is the forgotten doctor. He is the one that fought in the time war in between what we know as the 8th and 9th incarnation. He is technically the 9th incarnation of The Doctor which makes Christophers doctor the 10th Tennants the 11th and smiths the 12th. not even lying go look it up

no he's not the valeyard, no matter how much we want him to be. he's a secret incarnation of the doctor between the 8th and 9th

I read some **** somewhere that says he's the actual 9th incarnation and Tennant and Smith are the 11th and 12th or something like that. **** to do with shame over the time war.

The theory is that this 'Doctor' ("He's me, I never said he was 'The Doctor.") was a split off when the doctor made his choice to flee with 'The Master' from the time war. Instead of running, this Doctor stayed in the war, and caused many horrific things, since he had the name "The Storm".

Bascially, he's what the doctor could have been, and is, if he stayed in the Time War.

That's not going to be the new doctor.

The person we saw was the Doctor before he became the doctor. the way he was born essentially, his original form.

From what I've heard, it's not his original form. It's one tucked in right between eight and nine.

Just not working under "The Doctor" because he's ashamed of his past.

(Not trying to school you, you obviously know your stuff for the most part)

I'd guess (hope) that the next season would jump back and forth between the Time War and the "present", with matt smith.
