wtf happened to my description

Ok, my turn to rant. I thought season 5 had its moments, season 6 also (The Doctor's Wife has become my favorite episode), and the first half of season 7 was also respectable with Amy and Rory. I think as a whole the series peaked at Season 3, but it can still be good with Matt Smith. He's funny, charismatic, and while no David Tennant, he can deliver a line well and I can believe he IS the doctor. This new half of season 7 though feels sloppy, and much poorer. Neil Gaiman managed to save what little respect I had for this half with the Cyberman episode, but it's not enough. I think Steven Moffat has focused too much time on Sherlock, and Doctor Who has suffered as a result. They're trying too hard to appeal to young children with the cheesy lines, quirks, and corny lines (more than usually tolerable at least), and not on the actual STORY or PLOT. I mean, come on. Giant talking spoons? Talking down a destructive villain? No, that doesn't work! Maybe on one occasion. Maybe. But one episode after another as a solution is just stupid. The doctor offers them a chance, they refuse, he takes them down. That's what is supposed to happen, that's how it is in real life. The new companion is somewhat obnoxious, in that she is so chipper and too cutesy to be taken seriously, rather hot and in charge like Amy. I liked her in the first episode of season 7, but that's it. I wish they kept THAT version of Clara/Oswin/Whatever. And I'm FUMING over the fact that they STILL haven't answered all the past questions that they've set up (the questions all whovians are asking) like: Who the **** said "Silence will fall" in season 5? What the **** is with the organization the silence? I respect Steffan Moffat and Matt Smith, but if they don't fix these problems with the series, idk what to think, I really...just don't know...gif related.

you know how everyone in the comments is talking about how they don't like doctor who anymore? I'll let you in on a secret: doctor who isn't any different than it always was, it's just that doctor who is more popular and mainstream now and people can't stand that they aren't special for watching it anymore. if you like a show, fine. but this is a blatant turning of the tides from a significant group that just watch stuff to be part of the hip crowd. I see into your disingenuous heart of darkness, thumb me down all you want.

Well I just watched 'Nightmare in Silver' tonight (the newest episode of Doctor Who if you're unaware) and I must say I am disappoint. I was so into the 10th/Rose's relationship, I feel like they kinda topped it out. I don't really have a problem with Matt Smith, but this season is just not doing it for me. Like several other people on here, I feel that the writing is not nearly as good as it use to be. Still looking forward to the 50th Anniversary though, mainly for Tennant and Piper.

Pic related. (I'd bang her)

While I didn't agree with your analysis of Nightmare in Silver, which I thought was better than some of the past episodes, I agree with you about Billie Piper and Rose's Doctor relationship. Seriously, I'd **** her in a heart beat.

I'm starting to move away from Doctor Who. I have to agree with everyone else who has said it. The writing is getting mediocre, Clara is no different from Amy or Rose, there's not as much innovation, it's a bit embarrassing. I'm going to stick with it, but i'm moving closer towards Orphan Black.

I don't watch the new Dr. Who anymore. Why? The writers are now **** . At first, I was like "God Damn it Matt Smith you ****** it up!" but then I watched a few more, and he's a good Doctor, but it's the writing of the episodes that **** it up. I miss David Tennant, he was a good Doctor as well, and at least then the writing wasn't **** . They had new ideas instead of bringing back old enemies.

TL;DR
Matt Smith is a good Doctor, it's just that the writers are not what they were with David Tennant.

this season has been disappointing to say the least however i think the Matt Smith episodes were good up until The Angels Take Manhattan and then it became a downward spiral. I honestly don't think they knew what they wanted to do with Clara

They always bring back some enemies (basically just Cybermen and Daleks, especially Daleks) but yeah I agree. I didn't like Smith either at first but now I realise it's not his fault.
