what the **** was stephan moffat thinking making the daleks forget the doctor?

the best thing about the daleks is their relationship with the doctor, the fear and hate, the neverending spiral of war they are locked in, a relationship that tok 50 years to build! and in five minutes at the end of the episode he completely destroyed it!

Consider last season, With the Doctor dying at the beginning. When I saw that all I could think was "NO, NO NO NO." The story will have to come full circle. I'm sure that the Daleks will remember him in the end.

when we saw the doctor die we all knew that it wasnt the end of him, if only because we knew there was a whole series to go and matt smith had been signed for at least one more series. there is a real danger that moffat may leave the daleks as they are, after all this episode is the first worth while thing that hes done with them since "rebooting" them in victory of the daleks

You realise that there is more to the series? They have plenty of time to create a whole story that we've only had the introduction to.
You're also forgetting one pretty huge thing, Oswin has balready been confirmed as the Doctor's next companion. Just let that sink in and now think how complex and over the top the rest of the series is going to have to be so that this can line up properly.

first of all i wasnt talking about oswin at all, in fact the twist where she was actualy a dalek is one of the best parts of the episod and i have not forgotton that, lets remember that freema agyman already played a character before martha jones, they played it off that it was her cousin in canary warf. there are pleanty of other ways that they could work around it, he could meet her before she went to the asylum, the same way he met river before the library. there are countless ways around it.
it just dosnt change the fact that it was a ****** ending

It wasn't ****** though? It blows the entire thing open for a million different possibilities for the rest of the series. Isn't that really what that start of any good series should do? Maybe you didn't enjoy it, doesn't make it ****** .
User avatar #41 to #40 - platapus (09/03/2012) [-]
its not that i didnt enjoy it at all, in fact on the whole it was a good episode despite those few Glaring problems with it. but the ending IS a ****** ending. the daleks relationship with the doctor is an integral part of their character and either he is going to keep it like that and we are going to have ****** daleks, or they are going to somehow un-do it (my prefered choice) making the whole thing irrelevant!

Well, if you think about it at the end of the last series they did say that the first question should never be answered. If 'doctor who?' is the first question then who was the one asking it? Maybe from this episode we can take it could have been the Daleks. If they don't know who the Doctor is anymore they have absolutely no reason to fear him like they did in the past.
Also, as much as your point about how she could have been playing a minor character and then comeback as another could be true, I kind of doubt it in this case. Think about it, why would the Daleks keep her in the Asylum? Not only in the asylum but beyond Intensive Care, the place were they kept all of the Doctor's surviviors. What would make her that special? The Daleks are scared of her, very, very scared of her.

im not talking about oswin, im looking forward to seeing what they do with her charcter in the future, im talking about the terrible idea to remove the most interesting factor of the daleks character, plus the idea of them being so scared that they ask the doctor for help is again a kick in the daleks balls as it is something that they wouldnt have done, as much as they tried to justify it in the show

I still kinda liked that part, I'm sure Moffat has a plan for it
User avatar #38 to #29 - platapus (09/03/2012) [-]
Moffat has a plan for everything, it just always seems to be a crappy plan that involves the entire universe faling apart, he just cant sem to leave that idea alone!
