What happens if new writers take over and totally ruin Doctor Who?

I've heard the next most likely person to take over as head writer is Neil Gaiman, who is a fantastic writer. He wrote 'The Doctors Wife' (one of my favourite Matt Smith episodes) and the upcoming cyberman episode.

I'll still love and cherish the episodes before them, nothing can change that

Your dumb ass definitely won't regret getting that stupid tattoo in 30 years.

I bet that's what some guy said to his friend 50 years ago when he got a doctor who tattoo...

If he is a huge fan of the show, then I doubt it.

I used to be a huge fan of 'Teletubbies' but now I'm not.
Fandom changes with age

Well considering Teletubbies lasted a couple years and Doctor Who is going on 50, i don't think its fandom is going anywhere anytime soon.

I meant what you are a fan of changes. For instance he might stop liking Doctor Who when he's 50 and start liking something completely different.

Ah, i see. Fair enough.

highly doubt it, while fandoms do change, appreciation for a good story does not.

for example, i read alice in wonderland, infact, it was one of my first books, and while i may no longer obsess over all of caroll works, i still enjoy the story of the book.
