He was the best doctor in my opinion
he was so dark and serious and so funny at the same time

Im torn between Tennant and Eccleston. Eccleston was amazing, I loved how he was serious but could make you laugh, I just wish he had more time on the show. I love Tennant because he did the same thing basically, only more comical and he had more time so I got used to him more. I cant really stand any of Ecclestons episodes because they were just cheesy, but I did love him in those episodes.

IMO he was the only Doctor who could be taken seriously. The other guys were way too, for lack of a better word, whimsical for me to see them as protectors of the goddamned universe. I always thought 9's attitude and style of humor combined perfectly to make him seem like the type of crazed near-sociopath you'd get after having to annihilate two species, one of which being your own, and then having to travel through time in order to protect the universe from every gigantic disaster that may ever possibly occur.

And yet Tennant displayed that quality really well, in the first episode with Donna. He went full sociopathic killer on the spider thing, but Donna turn him around. That's when he started coping with it a little more. Least, that's my two cents worth

Maybe. IMO destroying yet another sentient race from the universe, no matter how evil and with most of that race being mere babies, would likely take a much larger toll on someone that could be fixed by a few words from one annoying woman.

You have to remember that Donna is more than one annoying woman, she is actually the most important woman to exist....ever.

I never felt that the series conveyed that well enough though; I just couldn't see her like that and didn't think her character was awesome enough to take on that role, even if it was given to her arbitrarily. Then again, I always ******* hated her and wished she would just get trapped like Rose did or maybe have something a little more unseemly happen to her. I think Martha did the best job of being the Doctor's companion, even if I couldn't get behind Tennant as the Doctor.

I miss Eccleston I wish he had more than just one season. He was a great doctor. Tennant was a real good replacement and I enjoyed him a lot. Smith is good too but he is just a little too silly for me.

I believe that Tennant fits it better but Smith had really good stories which made him good. They are both really good though.

I love both Doctors but I do think that Smith does a fantastic job of portraying the Doctor's age and there have just been so many moments where you just get to see Matt do some awesome stuff as the character. Either way they're both great Doctors.
