I go to a school with an industrial sized chicken pen and cow farm.
you have to volunteer, for no money whatsoever, in one of the following:
Dairy farm duty, chicken pen duty and general maintenance.
i have gotten used to the smell of cow manure, i have gotten used to working with arabs in general maintenance, but i will never, ever get used to the overwhelming, putrid stench of a millionchicken ***** in a 1.80 meter tall pile fermenting under a hot, middle eastern sun on june. EVER.

That's normal. It reminds you of home. The smell of mold always makes me think of my grandmother because before she got her house remodeled she had a very, very bad case of black mold under her floors.

I've been cutting grass from the time I've been physically able to do so and I'm 23 now...the smell of fresh cut grass is the smell of heat exhaustion, sweat, hours of labor and the scent of two stroke exhaust...i guess some people just grow to hate things they are accustomed to throughout a significant time frame :P
