It's a possibility.

Grey hulk hurts my eyes for some reason. I find that the artwork is unpleasant. Does anyone have any better examples. I googled it and am not too impressed and am rather glad he changed.

I really miss 616 Nick Fury. I know Ultimate (Black) Nick Fury is popular now but 616 (white) Fury is soooo much more badass.

Please tell me you read Spider-Men? When parker is introduced to ultimate Fury and he asks what 616 fury is like and parker responds with White and ultimate fury responds with too bad.

Its not that dc had other plans for them, its just that at the time, alan moore was obsessed with writing canon endings to characters in the main dc universe, and he really wanted to make watchmen cannon, but Dc didn't want that to happen since it would end popular characters

I don't disagree, but how is that not having other plans for them? (Moore had a plan, to kill them off in continuity, DC wanted to go on publishing their titles, that seems to constitute a different plan.)

its the wording of the sentence.
Its structure almost made it seem like DC was actively telling him that they had already wanted to do something specific with the characters, but otherwise you are correct

It's the same Nick Fury. Yes, he's just that awesome.

For people doubting this, look up the infinity serum, which is why nick looks so young while being old

There's a lot these people don't know about Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. .

Actually, hes not
Thats the movie universe, which changed things for a more mainstream audience
The only other universe that I could think of with black fury is the ultimate universe

The movies are based off the Ultimates Universe, Ultimate Nick Fury is based off Samuel L. Jackson.

That said, the mainstream universe recently introduced an illegitimate son of Nick Fury who looks a whole lot like the movie version.
