It's probably because DS2 is probably the least well made Souls game and the more rabid Dark Souls fans are really sensitive. Personally though, my biggest grievance is that I can't think of a reason to play it instead of DS1 which is such a mortal sin for a sequel that it condemns it to the 8th Circle of Sequel Hell of Being Just Another Installment of the Series. 9th Circle of Being Retroactively Tainting the Series is reserved for sequels like Other M.

I guess that explains a lot because I could never get PvP matchmaking in Dark Souls to work for me. A lot of my complaints about DS2 (weapon durability, boring bosses, losing max health on death, etc) probably affect PvE more than PvP as well.

Your roll invincibility is tied to a stat. Consumables make it piss easy to out-heal bosses damage output. You do retarded amounts of damage with even minorly optimized builds. Nearly every enemy has an attack with a speshul cinemagick follo up animashun to be kewwwwwl. Almost every enemy is a humanoid or scaled up humanoid. PVP is ****, PVE is ****, level design is **** compared to DS1, atleast its better than DS3, gear looks like ****, enemies look like ****, sound design is a ****, need I go on you ******* tard?

Dark Souls 3 has huge issues when it comes to defensive play, if an enemy doesn't want to get killed he will never be killed, you absolutely can't roll catch reliably, everyone telling you they won against a person spamming roll and nothing played against a noob, proper dodger can never lose.
Poise in Dark Souls 2 was the best in the whole series, it was there but it wasn't blatantly overpowered, you couldn't be staggered by Daggers wearing full Havel but you also weren't invulnerable to two handed strikes.
There weren't retarded breaking points, why does a person that have 31% weight have identical, not just similar but completely identical roll and stamina regen to a person with 70% weight?
Also variety in Dark Souls 2 pvp is huge, whenever I fight I always see a different weapon, even weapons in same category have way different movelists.
But in Dark Souls 3 you can bet your ass any Straight Sword will be Lothric Knight Sword, and Katana will be the Darkdrift, and Ultra will be Lothric Knight Greatsword, not like it matters, they all have identical movelist outside of very few attacks and weapon arts, and even then weapon arts are re-used a lot.
Magic in Dark Souls 3 is useless, straight up useless, not only is it slower than in Dark Souls 2 but retarded roll mechanics makes them way too easy to get out of, the only good spells are glorified melee weapons.
Ultra Weapons are viable, you can actually use your offhand weapon without having stupid ass block, why the **** do we block with parrying dagger, if you defend that design choice, you sir are completely retarded.
Not to mention removal of power stance, why give your player opportunity to make his own pair? Give him some already paired weapons with mostly **** stats and no way to change design of, making your fashion pointless.

While I think that Dark Souls 2 is a bit too slow, like if you play the game in like 10%-20% faster that would be just ideal but sometimes it feels underwater, I still think that B-team had very good ideas:
1.Not locking out pvp-coop zones after killing a boss.
2.Being able to revive bosses.
3.Being able to infuse and buff ****, without arbitrary rules.
4.Power Stance
5.Usable left hand weapons

Don't throw words like objectively, pretty much whole community agrees that Dark Souls 2 had the best PvP, you are in the minority.

the level design in DS3 is arguably the best in the series. The interconnectedness of the world is weak, and i really missed it, but for most levels, there are several different paths to take that puts you at the same place in the end.
The world design was never stronger than in DS1, but with a few exceptions, like the painted world and the catacombs, levels in DS1 are either less open for exploration, or sorta flat and too open to be interesting (parts of darkroot and the dragon-ass lava plains). They are in no way bad, but the level interconnectedness is what makes DS1 great, and the moment to moment leveldesign is what makes DS3 great.

The game is pretty fun but it's just the hitbox ******* is the most frustrating part of it.

The armours and weapons are pretty ******* cool though, and power stancing is awesome. If they polished some of the hitboxes it would be perfect. Too bad I doubt they'll update DS2 anymore.

Every one of those hit the person, but it was generally a hand hit or a foot hit. The moves though, force a certain animation if they hit. Unfortunately, that animation typically doesn't make sense for a hand hit or a foot hit.

The hitboxes are pretty great in the fact that they stay on the individual pretty solidly. But the number of moves with specific animations is too damn high.

Not the same thing. Sure, not pumping points into END restricted how much you could carry if you wanted to fast roll, but it's like like mid rolling was terrible. I went my whole first playthrough not even knowing about fast rolling. So you only get less i-frames if you want to carry more/heavier stuff.

But if you don't invest in ADP you will literally take damage without even getting hit. It's much worse.

As long as you don't start with the Deprived or a similar low-ADP start class, I never have a problem with taking damage when I shouldn't from rolling.

Heck, I'll roll through the Chariot's wheel spikes with 12-14 ADP with no problem.
If you don't want to invest in ADP, ranged whether bows, magic, pyromancy or hexes and heavy-shield playstyles are also viable.

The Gyrm Greatshield is known for making the Smelter Demon a cakewalk for a reason.

Lot's of different play styles, aside from just "get naked and roll" are what make DS2 a fun game.

You mean Soul Memory, which definitely sucks for consumable using builds/playstyles, but I didn't really enjoy when they added the agape ring and you started seeing Ice Rapier and such in the Belfry towers.
The arena was great for doing pure PvP, but I do agree that a separate invasion and arena matching system would've been netter. It would've also been harder to implement too.

This **** is just Dark Souls 2 not being made by the actual Dark Souls team. Think of it not as a real souls game but a ****** spin off by LJN. Still a better made game than bloodborne though; bloodborne is **** down to the core mechanics.

Artificial difficulty and unfair ******** everywhere This kind of thing happened constantly.

The game fails to communicate when you are or aren't safe from an attack, and hitboxes don't at all match up with graphics

Almost all of these had the leg hit boxes being hit by the enemies either during rolls in which they had no I-frames because Dark Souls 2 alone is a poorly made piece of **** where I-frames are tied to a stat. The exceptions being the mimic, in which the guy moved forward into the back of its hitbox, and error which wasn't present in dark souls 1 or 3, thanks b-team, the alonne knight, which has a special animation which made its wall piercing hit reposition it, thanks b-team, and a guy being hit by the leg of the dog, which is part of its attack, and not ***** at all. Dark Souls 3 is a piece of **** game but even thats better than DS2. DS3 and 1 are both known for having many moments of hitbox porn, because the hitboxes match the graphics so well. Dont insult a franchise based on the retarded bastard child not even made by the same ******* development team.

I complained about 2/5th of the series actually *******. Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3. And the graphics do match you ********, if you pay attention, the enemies attack hit the ******* leg, which has its own ******* hitbox. The only one even kinda ***** is the Ogre's because it has a tiny ******* AOE. I admitted that Dark Souls 3 is a piece of **** game, because it honestly just doesn't hold up compared to Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls. Hell, Bloodborne is the worst of them all and people ******* adore that. Issue is, Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne aren't bad mechanically, they're bad theory wise. They fail on levels of game theory, and have major issues that personally ruin for me since I'm very critical of my games, but doesn't really hamper their enjoyability for the public much, unlike Dark Souls 2 which most of its fans stopped defending after playing Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne and realizing how inept it is mechanically compared to a game made by the actual A-team. And even then, there is almost no artificial difficulty in Dark Souls 2, the worst made game in the series, which is still a better Souls Game than Bloodborne and 3 because atleast it gets the majority of the game theory right. Now **** off, I'm not about to waste more of my time by explaining why you're ******* retarded for thinking any of your deaths in the Souls series are not your fault, when they explicitly are (even if Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne don't teach you the game theory to notice your mistakes well).
