I almost want to buy the game just to understand why that video had me on the edge of my seat. I've played enough rpgs to recognize a losing battle but that one seemed pretty tense.

Basically, HP acts more as a 'buffer' towards actual death.

When your character hits 0 HP, they land on Death's Door. A character can survive on Death's Door provided they don't get hit with another attack.

If they do get hit by another attack, it's a roll of the dice to see if they die. Each character has their own 'Death Blow Resist', which is how likely they are to survive a mortal strike.

The Houndmaster in the video was incredibly fortunate.

It's a random spawn thing in the halls. The shrine that you activate to summon it, that is. Be wary of those with a curious nature, because they have a chance to activate it.
Also, the creature can spawn randomly in total darkness, so keep torches lit.

Something good to dish out good, continuous damage. Two highway men with point blank shot in the first two rows, and then some back line support behind them.
Point blank shot only works from the front line, only hits the front line, but deals good damage and moves the user back one. The highway men cycle repeatedly, doing point blank shots and eating through enemy forces, front to back. The support keeps them alive and possibly deals some damage to later rows, softening them up for the grinder.

That is something you'll have to figure out yourself, because different people like different setups.
There are some sets of characters that actually have names that show up when you put them together. All Crusaders is "The Last Crusade" and it can work well if they have the right skills, since they can heal and inspire each other and have some movement abilities to do damage while rearranging the party as needed.

A plastic identifier used in the loaning of money to the holder at exorbitant interest rates to be payed back at a later date.

They are highly profitable due to making them extremely easy to use so it's easy to spend more than can be timely payed back, well also charging a fee to the bushiness that accept them for allowing their use.

It's the closest one can get to legally printing money.

Personally I go with a high crit range damage in the back be it an arblast(who now that I remember died recently so nvm) or my grave robber. Then my vestal. Then leper and then crusader. Both my crusader and leper have locked in tough and protection for 10% max hp and protection. Basically when I use this comp the only threat is bleed and stress damage.
