I haven't played Farcry 3 yet but I think Dishonored honestly deserves game of the year.

Most games you have to accept that you are some crazy sociopathic killer but I love how Dishonored lets you choose how to deal with the world. You can either leave the city a river of blood or you can leave it just as it was.

And I won't spoil anything but it had me from furious to nearly fainting from fear to almost crying happy tears at the end.

But that is just my personal opinion, everyone seems to overlook this amazing game in favor for Farcry/Dark Souls/etc.

Dishonoured had the problem of the gameplay being subpar. It's did a brilliant storyline but games like dark souls and farcry make it exiting just to play.
The way I understand it, they two games that do well are the ones that have incredibly exiting gameplay (call of duty) and the ones where you can act however the hell you like (fallout/skyrim)
Dishonoured mainly falls into the second one but you don't get as much choice as the games who do it successfully

Gameplay subpar?

I've played Darksouls and I find the gameplay much blander in that game.

There are no stealth options and Dishonored gives you much more fighting options than 'HURR DURR SWORD AND SHEILD' like Dark souls.

I man, sure Darksouls has a cool riposte but Dishonored also has that (Admittedly much easier to pull of though) and more.

How long did you play dark souls for? I thought it was really boring for about 2 hours but once you get different weapons you can attack things in any way you want. You can even attack with two shields
Also, there is a stealth option, it's just ridiculously hard

I beat the first Bell Gargoyle and the Gaping Dragon in the sewers but after that I quit ^^;

I dunno, I just couldn't get into it.

That's strange. After the Taurus demon, most people seem to really get into it
