1. America and Canada have very friendly relations.
2. Most of the US's illegal immigrants come from Mexico, and securing the US-Mexican border is a much-discussed issue in American politics.
3. India and Pakistan are both nuclear-armed and kinda really hate each other. They've fought a lot over the region of Kashmir around the northern part of their border, and there's still a lot of dispute over who owns that land. I can't explain the hats, sorry.
4. The flag between Norway and Sweden is the flag of the Sami people, and indigenous population that inhabits both northern Norway and Sweden.
5. Armenia and Azerbaijan hate each other but their borders are hopelessly entangled. There's a chunk of land within Azerbaijan called Nagorno-Karabakh which is like 95% Armenian but "owned" by Azerbaijan (even though it has its own government). The countries have fought over it.
6. Poor Bolivia is landlocked, while its neighbor Chile is basically a really long strip of coastline.
7. Turkey is being flooded with Syrian refugees.
8. Niger, Nigeria, Chad, and Cameroon surround Lake Chad and have drained its waters to dangerously low levels.
9. North and South Korea have been enemies since they were split up, but before that they were one country for much, much longer. Every once and a while they discuss getting back together.
10. China and Afghanistan share a very short border waaay on the Western end of China, but China has only one time zone (despite its size). The time zone difference is 8 1/2 hours, even though they are bordering countries.
11. Western Europe doesn't seem to care much about borders anymore, and Western Europeans can travel to nearby countries relatively easily. They're all friends.
12. Australia has no borders.
13. Eastern Sahara is an autonomous territory that claims independence from Morocco, though Morocco does not recognize the region's independence.

Wow ignorant much? I don't want to sound like a prick but I love Geography so I can point out every flag and every nation on a map. You are just saying you don't give a **** like a 12 years old retard, You don't give a **** about school either am I right? I'm sorry but that is typical Americans to be lousy at geography. Do this game to train:

I got 192 of 197 btw.
User avatar #19 to #15 - itsallinthefunny (07/07/2013) [-]
Because not knowing these flags implies that I'm an ignorant idiot. Geography was removed at my high school like 4 years ago and I believe they're bringing it back next year. The reason I don't know this is because I was never taught it, not because I chose to ignore it.
#21 to #19 - anon (07/07/2013) [-]
That's funny because I was never taught flags in Geography but I still know all of these
User avatar #22 to #21 - itsallinthefunny (07/07/2013) [-]
Not everyone shares a passion and love for the same thing. I love history as opposed to geography. Its much more interesting and it teaches you about the mistakes of humanities past actions and its a lot deeper. I'm always learning new facts and read about a lot of things out of interest, but because I dont know other countries flags I'm supposedly ignorant. I wasnt taught geography but I know approximately where every country in the world is and what continent they belong to.

I feel ******* proud for Basque Country being there. For those who wanna know, it's saying "Independentzia!", which means "independence" in basque. Also, the second thing are random letters, because basque verbs are ******* CONFUSING (even for basque people like me)
#142 to #73 - underlois (07/07/2013) [-]
Why the **** isn't Portugal a ball, but is instead a towel?
#166 to #142 - arandomanon (07/07/2013) [-]
There's the stereotype (at least in Spain) that in Portugal towels are really really cheap. And, since there's barely anything interesting in Portugal (no offense to my Portuguese friends, it's just the stereotype), we say that we only go to Portugal when we want to get new cheap towels.
#181 to #166 - underlois (07/07/2013) [-]
But what about our pastry?
Also throughout all my years I've lived in Portugal I've never noticed our towels... But I would expect people to visit us because of the beaches in Algarve or our wines of Porto...

>Picture related, is one of the best "cakes" I've ever had on Portugal / I also took that picture and you may need to zoom out a lot once you enlarge it... Cake is called "Suicida" for anyone interested..
User avatar #191 to #181 - arandomanon (07/07/2013) [-]
I've got no idea. I've heard talking of the wine but the pastry is new to me. We've got a lot of cakes and beaches in Spain too. I don't know if the actual towel prices are that cheap but it's the stereotype here, it doesn't need to be true.
User avatar #192 to #191 - underlois (07/07/2013) [-]
Meh...for Portugal most people cross the borders just to go to your cheaper fuel stations...So I guess that our Stereotype of you guys from us..
User avatar #206 to #192 - arandomanon (07/07/2013) [-]
It's interesting you say that because the stereotype here is that there, everything's cheaper. I know it's not exactly true though. But most stereotypes aren't. We've got many more but most of them are offensive so they aren't worth of telling I guess.
