Unpopular Opinion; I support capital punishment. The prisons are overcrowded with people who are waiting to be relased in order to repeat their crimes and hurt more innocent people. Taxes pay for their upkeep; families pay to maintain the health and comfort of people who hurt them.

I don't care how many innocents die in the process of ridding the world of hudreds of paedophiles, murderers, rapists etc. To be convictied and put on death row in the first place means one is most certainly guitly of something, even if wrongly convicted of the crime they were tried for.

yeah but it's not really a sound idea if it can't ever happen

just because its improbable doesnt mean impossible. because it may never happen doesnt invalidate the idea.

it's very unlikely that people will ever evolve to where they don't make mistakes in situations like that. it's just basic human nature

I agree with you, and I hate the counter argument "it costs more to kill them than it does to keep them in prison" that is such ******** I can't even describe it, you can inject them with ******* air from an empty syringe and they'll die.

Then what's the point of the justice system? Should we deny people their constitutional due process of law just because we don't like them?

Prisons are overcrowded with repeat offenders because our legal system is ****** this way and that; a huge chunk of federal and state prisoners are victimless criminals like drug users, and our decision to "get tougher on crime" over the last few decades has only created a prison system where demanding fair living conditions means the rapists win and the possibility of recidivism for each individual ex-con is extraordinarily high. In contrast, prison systems with a focus on rehabilitation have repeat offense rates right in the *******.

If we just start killing people left and right solely for efficiency, then we have become the tyrranical state that the founding fathers wished to escape.

So, basically, you want innocent people to die, so murderers, rapists and paedophiles cant harm innocent people?

I didn't say I want innocent people to die, but I wouldn't care if a few innocents dies if a vastly larger number of people were protected from the guilty ones who are rightfully convicted.

implying it was even asked to begin with and not flat out made up to invoke the herd mentality.

"look marge, 3 out of 4 people seem to be okay with the government reserving the right to come over to my house and just shoot me in the face pointblank for whatever reason they dont have to disclose, so i guess im okay with it aswell"

This was in regards to Muslim Extremists being targeted by drone strikes overseas. Has nothing to do with domestic issues within our borders.

It was in response to US Attorney General Eric Holder's announcement in May.

People never get how racist they are being when they complain about this. So it is ok to kill foreign terrorists but it isn't ok to kill American terrorists, just because of where they were born.

Are foreign people worth less? Do their lives not matter as much? Do they not deserve the exact same rights as anybody else regardless of what a piece of paper says?

People don't seem to realize that targeting citizens doesn't always mean just a random guy sometimes it's someone who was plotting against the country and fled.Technically he is still a citizen but he is an enemy.
