I agree, it was fun - for a while. However, attack dogs were ridiculously OP, the tanks ****** up some maps - and MP40 was just laughable. Round drum and stopping power = An SMG with 64 shots, who kills you with one shot headshot across the hole map. It's a ******* SMG, not a sniper.
User avatar #192 to #18 - harbingerwolf (05/04/2013) [-]
I actually liked it aswell, only COD game with gore and not aimed at 8 year olds.
User avatar #194 to #18 - boydaranga ONLINE (05/04/2013) [-]
The campaign was fun as **** !

I think it's the gibbing and the trench gun.

Take away the hackers and id go back to that game in heartbeat. The last 2 games they made were **** imo. I miss big open maps.

I think it's ok. I think the best is COD4 and then Black ops and then I think the next would be WaW.

World at War was not terrible, but that's because it was just CoD4 with a WWII coat of paint, attack dogs instead of helicopters, snipers that all sucked, and some maps had a random tank in them just to **** up the balance. So since CoD4 was amazing and WaW was extremely similar with a bunch of new maps, it was pretty fun.

I always wished that too, I'd love to do a Defensive mission for Omaha beach manning an MG 42. Thankfully there's still Day of Defeat.

Oh god yes, that D-day level storming the beach and climbing the rock face into a blaze of German fire and booming explosions going on around you as your AI controlled allies were shot and murdered beside you while you charged into their fake gun positions to stop the firing. ******* yes, I loved that level.

Sad that I can't afford to buy the game on PC, and I haven't been able to find a working torrent for it since MW2 came out.

#197 to #36 - boydaranga ONLINE (05/04/2013) [-]
I think blops 2 is actually pretty decent too.

the Multiplayer is the most balanced in the series (CoD4 promod does not count. it's a mod)

Though the campaign has a bit of a bro shooty "murica" feel to it. and i really hate that the dedicated servers are matchmade and i can't pick a lobby myself instead of getting put into the same empty one all the time. and the MCS shotgun is so overpowered. and that is all i have to criticize it on really.

that was my first video game, ever. I was 5 years old when I got it. Best game ever. I was stuck on Crucifix Hill for MONTHS. It felt like much longer.
Even to this day, I still take out the gamecube and play that game to remind me where it all began.
You not only gave me nostalgia, you gave me tons of feels. I bet you didn't expect this, but thank you for posting that.

deleted my comment of just "15, bro"
I got the gamecube at 5, but Call of Duty 2 Big Red One is the game I played the most. When I first got the gamecube, it just sat there because I had only one game for it (which I forgo the title), which I beat the week I got the gamecube.
I got the game brand new, I only got it because I saw the commercial on TV, and mentioned it in Toys R Us when my dad was looking at a new bike for me.
I'm 15. Also, I exaggerated the "5 years old", I was 8, almost 9, so I probably got the game for my 9th birthday.

That is my favorite Zombies map, period. It is still awesome to play. I even got it again when they released the updated one for Black Ops (kind of a waste though, since I always end up back on WaW anyway).

Second favorite is the soviet space program one for Black Ops 1. I think it was the first map pack. Third is the original, because something about the simplicity of that map makes it great.

I lost my **** and loved it, that was how I got hooked on Zombies.
User avatar #102 to #37 - guymandude (05/04/2013) [-]
100% agree. The campaign was badass and interesting (instead of over-the-top to the point of ridiculousness like they are now), the online play was challenging, and as that horse put it so well, NAZI ******* ZOMBIES. Retrospectively though, I think the thing that really put it on a pedestal for me is how different all of the guns felt when you used them. In the more recent games, imo each gun feels like they programmed a single assault rifle into the game and changed skin and the fire rate slightly to make the others. But WaW gave players some goddamn variety.
