Why not both?. .. I'm still not sure whether I like the new modern-ish setting of Avatar, or not. Sure, the 1920s thing is cool, but I kinda miss the charm the technologicaly ina

What if Amon isn't getting rid of bending, and he's just absorbing everyone's power so he'll be stronger than the avatar..?

It would be amazing if you just figured out the end to the 1st season.

Sure, the 1920s thing is cool, but I kinda miss the charm the technologicaly inadvanced original series had. They used ink and brushes to write, bending to move vechicles, birds to send messages... And now they suddenly have cars, phones and printing presses. Well, you can't stop progress, I guess.

This is actually more of a Steampunk style of artwork in my humble opinion.

I appreciate the way their society changed. It kind of mirrored our own. We industrialized, so did they. The fire nation was half way there in the original, anyway. The other nations weren't because they had been ravaged by war. I think it makes sense. But I'd like to see Korra get back to the basics of being the Avatar. She sucks at spirituality.

Look at it this way: It could make a BOMB ass GTA/Godfather-esque video game
User avatar #12 to #9 - bmran (05/20/2012) [-]
I believe that's only the ex-fire nation colonies are like that.
we can see the southern water tribe stayed the same.
maybe the rest of the world didn't change as much/ changed differently...

I think that's the point of the series. It's meant to show you how technology is making bending almost obsolete, having it reduced to a simple sport. Nobody needs benders any more, where earth benders would have moved trains, now it's steam and electricity. The series is focusing on how the Avatar is supposed to fit in to this new world.

One reason why I think equalists are hypocritical dicks is because they use lots of technological **** like robots and electric stun gloves, but they get the power from the power plants which use electricity benders to make the electricity in the first place.

Yeah, you're right. And I know I probably should not compare the two shows, but I really miss the original =(

You can always watch the original show online. There are loads of sites with all the old episodes on.

Am I the only one that thought of this when the machines came up in the new episode?

Anyone else feel like they'd want to see Amon and the equalists use science right and give themselves more of a fighting chance by using bioshock adam/plasmids.

The part that i really don't understand is that the floor in the factory was earth. Bolin was bending it when they escaped. Why didn't the metal benders bend that instead of their metal whip things. It would've been easier to defeat the machines.
User avatar #108 to #35 - RisenLichen (05/21/2012) [-]
Remember that it was their first time fighting those machines, they didnt know that it would be so difficult to take them down. Also, metalbenders are used to bending metal, so maybe they just forgot that they can actually bend earth.
#110 to #108 - chosenonex ONLINE (05/21/2012) [-]
Well idk. i would assume they still have to earth bend a lot more than we think. i just don't get it. Especially with lin being tophs daughter. with an entire floor made of earth she probably could've taken them all out by herself.
#114 to #110 - RisenLichen (05/21/2012) [-]
you're right, and lin did bend the earth, but only to push herself off the ground. I like to think of the metalbends as the dai lee. They had those earth gloves and they were so used to bending those, they hardly ever bent actually earth off the ground. and in the end, that was their one weakness

idk. it just seemed odd. i get that the creators had her lose on purpose so they could have that ending scene they had, but looking back it doesn't really fit well.

I say because the show is aired on nick they are limited and they just cant go around trashing everything like the wat it is supposed to because its still a kid's show
