Is there a chance Bumi or Kya could have an airbender?

I totally read this as "Bumi and Kya" and I had weird, incestuous thoughts that should be more disturbing to me than they are. Damn you internet.

They'd still be descended from Aang though.

But Bumi and Kya are descendants of Aang.

no, atleast one parent must be a bender of that type, bumi is a non bender and kya is a waterbender, so no.

I don't think so. I believe that being an airbender depend on if they lived the lifestyle or not. At least partially.

Look at all the air acolytes they live the airbender way but they can't airbend.

Cause it probably isn't wholly dependent on spirituality.
Genes take some place.

So even by your own reasoning, if genes take some place, and the child of Kya or Bumi lived the lifestyle of an airbender, then that child could be an airbender.

Actually I think it depends on the genetics and spirituality of the parents.
Like, Aang and Tenzin both had three kids, but I think Tenzin was the only Airbender because out of Aang's kids because Katara probably didn't live an overly Air Nomad lifestyle, or at least not until Tenzin was born. Pema, on the other hand was an Air Acolyte, therefore she had pretty much everything but the bending gene, so I think that may have been why all Tenzins kiss a were benders.
