I believe they tried to make the series for the generation that watched Avatar, make it more grown up so they still want to watch it, and not display it as the kids show it use to be.

Blues Clues- Grown man on drugs.
Spongebob- He's like in his 30s, job and all.
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood- Kickass old guy.
Teletubbies- The **** if I know.

Ask a kid how old Spongebob is and they'll tell you that Spongebob is a kid even though he could potentially get a driver's license.

"Oh look, it's Aang"
I got mixed emotions with this finale. They won against the Red Lotus and all but, everybody looks sad. Especially Korra and Jinora.

I think she's just nervous in that screenshot, 'cause her expression changes pretty fast. I think Korra was upset because Tenzin mentioned how they should live up to her example but she always feels like she ***** everything up

to break the ice and make it possible that every charachter might can die, improves my enjoyment. I like GoT for example becasue every scene with a thread feels like a threat to the charachter i like.

So if a Charachter is Imortal because he has to survive, the dangerous scenes are not dangerous anymore.

I think the real reason she was crying is not the event itself but what it means.

Korra grew up listening the stories of Aang, her past life, and how he brought balance to the world. She always dreamed of being a great Avatar just like him. However, as soon as she got to real life she realized that she wasn't strong enough to solve all the problems out there. Plus, every single antagonist were against her very existence. Amon, wanted to eradicate bending, her speciality, Vaatu/Unalaq wanted to eradicate goodness and the Red Lotus wanted to kill the Avatar forever.

The final message from Zaheer, that she wasn't needed, becomes even more true with Tenzin's claim about the Air Nation, and thus she cried.

As much as this probably won't get noticed.. I'll just say it anyway.
When we were growing up Avatar taught us courage, faith, friendship, and love. These were the themes we so closely need to focus on growing up. It was themed properly considering our age; many of us quite young. These were just the simple things we were focused on at the time.

Now; we are much older. The concept or struggle, faith, politics, and even death are now our themes. So many of us think of these things on a daily basis. But what this show has taught despite all the time and the change in us is simply never to give up. No matter what the fight. Keep fighting for what you believe is right for as long as you believe there is hope then there will be hope.

We all fight a battle; many of us more internally than externally. Many of us on a path to find out who we are and we have a lot that we are challenged by. We will make mistakes... we will lose.. and lose.. and lose.. but what we mustn't do is give up. Personally; I'm on the verge of losing my marriage to the woman I love so dearly. And again it's the internal struggle.. and often times it can push people away. Just look at yourself honestly in the mirror and just admit your flaws. You'll see the image just simply becomes more clearer... and fixing those mistakes becomes more easier. And where does this relate to my situation? Because I was honest with myself... and we'll be attending marriage counseling.. we'll be working on it... just don't ever lose hope... because if you lose hope then that's where it's finally over.

Book 3 had a slow start but I thought it was really great. Yeah the maturity level was amped up a bit but I think the show's creators finally realized who their fanbase was.

The fight scenes were awesome. The fight between Zaheer and Tenzin was the best imo of the whole series because it was splendidly animated.

Those deaths The Earth Queen, Ming, and P'Li were really hardcore and brutal. What really got me was Korra going through clinical depression and PTSD at the end. I just felt really bad for her and it leaves it up in the air on what the long term effects will be from the poison and also how the role of Avatar will play in the next season.

I like to think that she was such a threat in her village/town or whatever that they caught her and were all like "Chop off her arms, that should stop her" and they did, and she is such a strong bender that she learned to use waterbending as an extension of her arms, but the show never really clarifies it...

None of the Red Lotus members had any sort of introduction or flashbacks about their past like Amon or Unalaq that sort of explain who they were why they did what they did. Unlike Amon and Unalaq, though, these characters were humanized. The sibling-esque relationship between armless girl and lava bender and the love between Zaheer and combustion girl. I'm too lazy to look up names. Sue me. Although we opposed these guys, we felt for them too.

Lava guy was committing suicide by dumping lava on himself, and Water Arms was directly underneath that and unconscious.

Even if she somehow survived that eletrocution, magma and a collapsing cave, she's trapped in a cave with only a small supply of water and no way out.

Not saying it's impossible for the writers to bring them back, but it's very unlikely either survived.

This show needs a better home, TOONAMI!.

I don't care if it isn't officially an anime, it kindof deserves to be up there in the latter.
It really earned its place in my heart as an "anime" even if it isn't.

This show finally got its act together and got as dark as I would need it to be, and it serious'd the **** up. The animation became top notch over time, and the writing ever so exponentially improved.

I'd say let's throw'em a bone for their efforts.
