I believe they tried to make the series for the generation that watched Avatar, make it more grown up so they still want to watch it, and not display it as the kids show it use to be.

"Oh look, it's Aang"
I got mixed emotions with this finale. They won against the Red Lotus and all but, everybody looks sad. Especially Korra and Jinora.

I would have liked to know why the scary water bending woman had no arms. Was she born like that or were they chopped off?
#36 to #31 - xxabbiexx (08/24/2014) [-]
I like to think that she was such a threat in her village/town or whatever that they caught her and were all like "Chop off her arms, that should stop her" and they did, and she is such a strong bender that she learned to use waterbending as an extension of her arms, but the show never really clarifies it...

Season 4 is probably gonna have a slow start, my guess that the first few episodes are gonna be about Korra trying to recuperate from that near death experience.

As much as this probably won't get noticed.. I'll just say it anyway.
When we were growing up Avatar taught us courage, faith, friendship, and love. These were the themes we so closely need to focus on growing up. It was themed properly considering our age; many of us quite young. These were just the simple things we were focused on at the time.

Now; we are much older. The concept or struggle, faith, politics, and even death are now our themes. So many of us think of these things on a daily basis. But what this show has taught despite all the time and the change in us is simply never to give up. No matter what the fight. Keep fighting for what you believe is right for as long as you believe there is hope then there will be hope.

We all fight a battle; many of us more internally than externally. Many of us on a path to find out who we are and we have a lot that we are challenged by. We will make mistakes... we will lose.. and lose.. and lose.. but what we mustn't do is give up. Personally; I'm on the verge of losing my marriage to the woman I love so dearly. And again it's the internal struggle.. and often times it can push people away. Just look at yourself honestly in the mirror and just admit your flaws. You'll see the image just simply becomes more clearer... and fixing those mistakes becomes more easier. And where does this relate to my situation? Because I was honest with myself... and we'll be attending marriage counseling.. we'll be working on it... just don't ever lose hope... because if you lose hope then that's where it's finally over.

Book 3 had a slow start but I thought it was really great. Yeah the maturity level was amped up a bit but I think the show's creators finally realized who their fanbase was.

The fight scenes were awesome. The fight between Zaheer and Tenzin was the best imo of the whole series because it was splendidly animated.

Those deaths The Earth Queen, Ming, and P'Li were really hardcore and brutal. What really got me was Korra going through clinical depression and PTSD at the end. I just felt really bad for her and it leaves it up in the air on what the long term effects will be from the poison and also how the role of Avatar will play in the next season.

I haven't watched the show (don't hate me) but in regards to the third gif, I would like an explanation. I know the woman in grey is a metal bender, and from what I collected from the comments section, the woman in red is a mind bender? I'm guessing that what the metal bender throws is plate mail. All I kinda want to know is if the mind benders(?) powers contained in the plate mail equals this.

Nah, she's a firebender that can focus her chi to create explosions out of her third tattooed eye. It's called combustion bending, and she's the second character in the series to have the ability.

And a point blank explosion contained by solid metal will make your head asplode.

Pic related.
